Just In Time Part 5

Selena pulled up at the mansion, and Jay buzzed the intercom on the gates. "Hello?" Emma said in the intercom "Hi it's me Jay" he said "Hi darling I'll open the gates" she said. The large black gates opened and Selena drove up the driveway. Jay got out the car and ran to the other side to open the car door for Selena, she smiled and thanked him. The front door then opened and Jay's mum and dad walked out "Hi sweetheart, how are you feeling?" she said "I'm good thanks mum" she said before she gave him a big hug "I'm sorry we had to leave you at the hospital. I couldn't rearrange this bloody interview and your dad had to go to rehearsals" she said "It's fine mum, I had Matt and Tom. Then Selena came so all good" he said as he smiled at Selena. Emma smiled at them, "Well thank you for looking after our Jay tonight Selena, do you want to come in. I've just put the kettle on" she said "Yeah I'd love to" she smiled. 

Jay took off Selena's coat and hung it up for her and they took their shoes off. Jay took her hand and led her to the kitchen. "Where's dad?" he asked "Oh he's gone out with clients. They came to watch rehearsals and he took them out for dinner" Emma said. "Where's G?" he asked "She's out with friends" Emma said whilst pouring the tea. For the next hour, the three sipped tea and spoke about life, Emma gave Selena career advice and embarrassed Jay as she showed baby pictures and shared stories. 

Selena looked at her watch "Oh I didn't realise the time, I better go, I have an early start tomorrow. Thankyou so much for the tea Mrs Thompson" she said "Please call me Emma" Emma smiled "I'll walk you out" Jay smiled as he got up. Selena nodded and smiled and they walked to the door. Jay got Selena's coat and put it on her. "I had a really nice time tonight" she said with a smile. "Me too. Maybe next time we avoid the hospital though" he smiled. She giggled "Yeah that would be good" she said as she put her shoes on. He opened the front door and walked her out to the car. He opened the car door and she got in "Goodnight Selena" he smiled "Night Jay" she smiled before he kissed her cheek. "I'll see you soon yeah?" he asked "Yeah you will" she smiled with a blush, before she closed her door and she drove off into the night. Jay watched her drive away and then walked into the house. Emma stood there smiling "what?" he asked smiling "you can't stop smiling" she said "she's an amazing girl mum and yeah she's her. She is the girl of my dreams....and I know I need to protect my heart but there's something different about her. Anyway I'm going to go to bed, night mum" he said before he walked upstairs. Emma watched her son walk upstairs, "honey" she said "yeah" Jay said "just be careful please" she said "I know, I will" he said before continuing to walk upstairs. Emma looked on remembering it was only two years ago she was consoling her son over his broken heart and hoped and prayed it wouldn't happen again.

"Be careful with that!" Jay said to Tom as he fumbled out of the elevator with two boxes. "I've got it!" he said. Jay shook his head and followed him with the last two boxes. Jay and Tom walked into Jay's new apartment, where Matt was building furniture in the lounge. "Anyone want some lunch?!" they heard from the open door. They looked over and saw Selena standing there with a bag from Starbucks and 4 iced coffees. Jay smiled and walked over "thanks Sel" he said and kissed her cheek, as she put the bags on the kitchen island. Selena smiled at Jay as he opened the boxes "Boys food!" he said "Oh thanks Selena, really appreciated" Matt said "Yeah Selena your a star!" Tom said, "you guys are welcome!" she said. Matt and Tom grabbed a sandwich and walked over to the lounge area "Mate this view is incredible" Matt said "I know right, it's stunning" he said as he took a bite of his sandwich as looked at Selena. She blushed and he winked at her. Matt and Tom were in conversation about the view, Jay wrapped his strong arms around Selena's waist from behind and kissed her cheek. She turned round in his arms and kissed him lightly, he deepened it. "Our first kiss" she said after she pulled away"Scandalous" he joked, before he kissed her again, and placed his hand on her cheek. They pulled away when they heard ooooohhhh from behind them. Jay looked up and saw Tom and Matt making fun of them, Jay stuck his middle finger up at them. They laughed "You going to help unpack your shit or keep kissing Selena" Tom said "Well my choice would be the second one but that's not the right answer" Jay joked "I'm free this afternoon, if you want any help" Selena asked "Oh yeah more the merrier, thanks" Jay said as he took her hand and led her to the pile of boxes piled up. 

As the hours passed, helping Jay to unpack the more Selena got to know him and his two closest friends. As they finished packing the last box, Matt looked at his watch "I better get going boys and lady. Angela and I are going out tonight" he said "Yeah no problem mate, thanks for coming and helping" Jay said as he hugged Matt "Yeah no problem" Matt said "Yeah I better go and get back to the...dogs??" he said "Subtle mate" Jay smiled "hey what can i say I'm a natural actor" he playfully smirked. Jay and Selena both said goodbye to Matt and Tom before they left the newly unpacked apartment.
