Felicity's POV
I woke up to Marvin using my hair as a nest.
"Marv, go away," I mumbled. He just burrowed into my hair, hooting. I groaned and sat up, causing him to fly back to the headrest of the bed. I sighed and trudged out of bed and was about to wake up Hermione when I had an idea.
"Hermione, we're late for Transfiguration," I whispered urgently, leaning over her. Which was a bad idea. She shot up quickly, her head colliding with mine.
"Ow! Bloody hell, Hermione, I was just joking," I muttered. She glared before slowly getting up and changing into her robes.
When she was done, and in a better mood than when I woke her, we skipped to the Great Hall. "Oh, Happy Halloween, by the way," I said happily before we sat down with Ron and Harry, who were surprisingly already there.
"So, I heard that today we're actually performing the Levitation Charm we've been learning so much about," Hermione said. Ron groaned. "Great."

"One of the wizards' most useful spells is the Levitation spell, which gives objects the ability to fly," Professor Flitwick chirped, even though he'd told us this last lesson.
"Now, do not forget the nice swish and flick. Okay class? Swish and flick," he demonstrated. We all examined the feathers laying on our desks in front of us.
I was sitting in between Seamus Finnigan, who was a fellow first year Gryffindor, and Ron, with Hermione on the other side of Ron and Harry on the other side of Seamus.
"Try it, class," Flitwick encouraged.
"Wingardium Leviosa," everyone tried. I opened my mouth to attempt when Hermione's voice caught my attention.
"Oh, stop, stop! You're going to take someone's eye out! Besides, you're saying it wrong. It's 'LeviOsa' not 'LeviosA'," Hermione said to Ron, putting an emphasis on the 'O' and 'A'.
I snickered and turned back to my feather as Ron replied. "If you're so clever, then you do it!" Hermione scoffed and directed her attention back to her feather. I opened my mouth to speak the incantation at the same time as Hermione.
"Wingardium Leviosa," we chanted together. Our feathers began floating in the air, bobbing up and down. I smiled triumphantly and turned to Hermione who was already grinning at me. Ron scowled and glared at Hermione.
"Oh, look here everyone! Miss Granger and Miss Longbottom have done it!"
Seamus glanced down at his feather and tried the spell again. Key word: Tried.
"Wingard Leviasa, Wingard Levi-"
Boom!
A small explosion shook the room as Seamus' feather burst into flames and floated down, crumbling into ashes. Harry gulped, already dusted in soot. "I think we're going to need another feather over here, Professor," he said.
~*~
I walked with Dean, Seamus, Ron, Neville, and Harry out of class while Hermione put her quills and books away, seeing as she took absolutely forever to complete that task.
"'It's LeviOsa, not LeviosA!' She's a nightmare, honestly! No wonder she hasn't got any friends," Ron scoffed. Dean and Seamus laughed, while Harry and Neville just looked uncomfortable.
I opened my mouth to yell at Ron when Hermione pushed passed us, wiping a tear away. "I think she heard you," Harry murmured. I turned on Ron furiously, causing him to take a small step back.
"Seriously, Ron? I'm her friend, and you acting like an ignorant, jealous prick doesn't do anyone any good!" I shouted angrily.
I pushed past them and ran after Hermione, who had disappeared with the rush of other students.
