Felicity's POV
The four of us strolled through the doors to the Great Hall, and the talking instantly got quieter. I blushed a little and we all hurried to our seats. The conversations resumed and I let out a sigh of relief. "That was weird," Hermione stated.
I nodded in agreement and grimaced as I looked up at the Slytherin banners decorating the ceiling and walls of the Hall. "I hate the decorations," I spat, "It's all that evil git Malfoy's fault." I stopped my complaining as Professor McGonagall stood up and chimed her spoon against the side of her glass cup. I glared at the Slytherin table for a few more moments before turning my attention to Dumbledore.
"Another year, gone," he announced in a strong, clear voice, "And now, as I understand it, the House Cup needs awarding. And the points stand like this: In fourth place, Gryffindor, with 262 points." Scattered applause rang through the Great Hall, and a few older Gryffindor's glared at me, Ron, Hermione, and Harry. I glowered at Malfoy and his cronies, who snickered.
"In third place, Hufflepuff, with 352 points." More applause, louder this time. "In second place, Ravenclaw, with 426 points." Applause, whoops, cheers, and laughing. "And in first place, with 472 points, is Slytherin!" It seemed as if everyone burst out cheering and I rolled my eyes at Malfoy, who was smirking at me.
"Yes, yes, good job, Slytherin... However, recent events must be taken into account," Dumbledore proclaimed. The cheering abruptly stopped and everyone's heads turned to the old wizard. "And I have a few last minute points to award," he continued.
"To Miss Hermione Granger, for the cool use of intellect while others were in peril... I award you 50 points!" Loud cheers and shouts and screams erupted from our table as everyone congratulated Hermione.
"Second, to Mister Ronald Weasley, for the best played game of chess that Hogwarts has seen in many years... 50 points!" We cheered as Ron turned bright red. The Weasley twins were screaming, "That's our brother!" I grinned.
"Thirdly, to Miss Felicity Longbottom-" What? "-for exceptional loyalty, persistence, and bravery, 50 points!" I smiled widely and probably turned as red as Ron did as everyone shouted and cheered.
"And, to Mister Harry Potter, for pure love and outstanding courage, I award Gryffindor House... 60 points!" We were all cheering before I realized something. "Hermione!" I shouted, "We're tied with Slytherin!" Her jaw dropped, and I could practically see her adding up the points and coming to the same conclusion as me as we turned back to Dumbledore again.
"And finally, it takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to your enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to your friends. I award 10 points... to Neville Longbottom!" Neville sat in shock for a moment before a smile broke out on his face. "Yeah, Neville!" I screamed, along with the rest of the house.
"Assuming that my calculations were correct, I believe that a change of decoration is in order!" Dumbledore shouted over our cheering. He clapped his hands together, and the ugly Slytherin banners changed to glorious, sparkling Gryffindor ones. That's much better.
"Gryffindor wins the House Cup!"
The entire Gryffindor table stood up and threw our hats in the air in victory and began hugging each other and cheering. I glanced over to the Slytherin table to see them all glaring at us. I smirked at Malfoy and mouthed 'Sucks for you'. His glare increased and I grinned before turning around and hugging Neville.
"I'm proud of you, Nev," I said in his ear. He grinned. "Thanks, Felicity. But now you owe me candy," he said, "I'm holding you to your word." I rolled my eyes but nodded and hugged everyone else.

The Hogwarts Express whistled loudly, warning us to get on before we get left behind. "Hurry up, now!" Hagrid shouted, ushering students into the train, "Hurry up! Yer gonna be late!" Harry and I put our owls away and joined Ron and Hermione in front of the train entrance. We all filed in, but Harry paused, looking over to Hagrid.
"Go on," I said, "I'll save you a spot. Tell him I said I'll miss him." He smiled gratefully. "Thanks, Felicity." I nodded and he hurried away to Hagrid. I turned around to catch up with Hermione and Ron, but they already disappeared into our compartment. I rolled my eyes. Such nice friends I have.
I pushed through students and was about to enter the compartment when someone grabbed my arm. I turned around and glowered at them.
Ugh. Malfoy. "What do you want, Malfoy?" I snapped. He smirked. God, how I wanted to wipe that smirk right off his face. "I just came to say that you're not going to be winning the House Cup next year. Slytherin will win, we always will, as long as I'm in it," he said arrogantly. I rolled my eyes. "You know, maybe you're right. Maybe if you are permanently out of Slytherin, it won't be a problem," I retorted with a sickly sweet smile. "Besides," I added, "You literally lost already today."
If looks could kill, I'd be dead. Instead of dwelling on that, I said cheerily, "Have a horrible summer, Malfoy!"
I slipped into our compartment, quickly followed by Harry. "It feels weird to be going home, doesn't it?" Hermione said wistfully. Harry shook his head. "I'm not going home. Not really."
We all looked out the window time last time before the train took off, back to Kings Cross Station.
