Felicity's POV

I crept silently into my brother's room, a silent smirk on my face. Grabbing the glass of water on his nightstand, I hovered over him for a moment before getting out my new video camera, courtesy of my Gran as my birthday present. I pressed the on switch (they were quite simple things, these Muggle cameras), and held the water above him before emptying it on his face.

He yelped and shot up, spluttering. I was bent over laughing, managing to keep the camera pointed at his face. "Blimey, Felicity!" he yelled, rubbing his eyes. He turned towards me, glaring. His eyes zeroed in on my camera. "You did not," he said, horror written on his face. "Oh, dear twin, but I did," I replied, grinning.

I dashed out of his room and downstairs to the kitchen where Gran was making breakfast. I hid underneath the table, trying not to laugh as I heard him stumble down the last few steps.

"Gran, where's Felicity?" Neville asked. Gran's eyes flickered to me and I held a finger up to my lips. "I don't know, Neville. Why don't you go get properly dressed, we'll be heading to Diagon Alley soon," she said in that no-nonsense way of hers. I stayed silent until I heard him tromp up the stairs. I smiled and came out from under the table.

"Thanks, Gran." She shook her head, chuckling. "What did you do this time?" I smiled, satisfied with my newest victory, and showed her the video. She tried to give me a disapproving glare, but ended up chuckling.

"Sometimes, I swear you two are polar opposites," she stated. I smiled, and nodded. "You told me to wake him up, so I did. Besides, we are. Polar opposites, I mean. We hardly even look that much alike. I have Mum's blonde hair, he has Dad's brown hair. I have Dad's green eyes, he has Mum's brown eyes. We're not that similar," I said. She rolled her eyes exasperatedly.

"Go get dressed, we'll be leaving for Diagon Alley soon." I went upstairs, envisioning my closet as I walked. I picked out my outfit, a nice blouse paired with jeans and a pair of wedges, brushed my teeth, and skipped downstairs. Gran regarded my shoes with distaste before walking over to the fireplace and grabbing a handful of Floo powder.

"You know the drill; Felicity, you're up first," she said strictly. I grabbed a handful of powder before throwing it into the fire. I stepped into the green flames and cleared my throat. "Diagon Alley!" I yelled.

I disappeared into smoke and reappeared at Diagon Alley, in front of Flourish and Blotts. I smiled with satisfaction, my smile disappearing when Neville popped up, followed quickly by Gran. I love my family, but they're a wee bit embarrassing. At least, Gran is. She absolutely refuses to allow me to improve her wardrobe, or at least get rid of those bloody bird hats.

"Gran, can I please do the shopping on my own? Please?" I asked as innocently as I could manage, batting my eyelashes. She sighed. "Fine. But be back here in two hours, or else!" she said, pointing a finger at me in warning. "Oh, can I go alone, too, Gran?" Neville asked hopefully. Gran snorted. "Not a chance, boy. You'll break everything you touch," she said with a playful gleam in her eyes. I stifled my laughter at the look on Neville's face and smirked teasingly.

"See you two later!" I said cheerfully. Neville sighed and waved a little wistfully before walking into Flourish and Blotts with Gran. I turned to Apothecary Shop and marched in, observing the interior in amazement. Gran never let us go into this shop. She says it's too 'dark and dangerous for kids your age'. But in reality, it's not all that bad-

"Ah!" I yelped as a girl practically tackled me to the ground. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!" she said, worry in her eyes. "It's fine," I said, brushing off the invisible dust on my shirt. She breathed a sigh of relief. "Well in that case, I'm Hermione Granger. I'm starting my first year at Hogwarts," she said excitedly.

I grinned at her widely. "Me, too," I said to her cheerfully. Her eyes lit up. "Really? What house do you want to be sorted into?"

I'd given that a lot of thought and replied quickly. "Gryffindor," I answered, "Just like my parents."

Hermione and I spent the next hour talking and shopping. She had gotten everything, but I still needed my wand and owl, so I bid her goodbye and set off for Ollivanders.

I walked down the crowded street before entering the surprisingly empty shop. "Uh, hello? Mr. Ollivander?" He quickly emerged from a row of wands and walked over, staring at me.

"Ah, Miss Felicity Longbottom," he greeted mysteriously. I let out a nervous laugh, and before I could say anything that would probably embarrass me, he disappeared into one of the many aisles, coming out a minute later with a long rectangular box.

"Try this," he commanded. Without question, I grabbed the wand and swished it around, apparently much too forcefully, and caused the stack of papers on his desk to fly everywhere.

"Sorry," I apologized swiftly, my eyes wide. He just laughed. "Not to worry," he said, disappearing again. He returned with a smaller box and handed the stiff wand to me. I flicked my wrist down, somehow causing the lamp next to me break. I jumped at the sound. "Bloody hell," I muttered. "Nope, not that one," Ollivander said quickly. He put it away, coming back with another box. He opened it and gave me the wand carefully.

As soon as I felt my fingers touch the wood, warmth ran through my body. I gave it a little swish, grinning as red, gold, blue, and green sparks emitted from the top. Hogwarts colors.

"Ah, 11 1/2 inches, Willow, Dragon Heart String, rather bendy. Perfect for charms and jinxes, and healing, should it suit you," he said proudly. My grin widened more, if that was possible. "Thank you, Mr. Ollivander," I said gratefully. I paid and left for my final destination.

I walked inside Eeylops Owl Emporium & Magical Menagerie, the sound of owls cooing, cats meowing, and frogs croaking greeting me. I instantly found an owl to my liking. I smiled, picking up its cage gently.

He was a fluffy grey little thing, with bright yellow eyes. I grinned, paying for him at the front and walked back to Flourish and Blotts, where an angry Gran and a worried Neville were waiting.

"Where were you?" Gran shrieked. I winced before replying. "I made a friend, exploded a few things at Ollivanders, and got an owl. I just lost track of time, Gran. I'm sorry, it won't happen again." She huffed loudly before walking towards The Leaky Cauldron.

"Just make sure your owl doesn't eat Trevor," Neville said with a warning tone. I rolled my eyes. "What's its name, anyways?" he asked.

"Marvin," I responded, grinning.
