We're caught in a trap, I can't walk out
Because I love you too much, baby

。.✦ ☾

As they drive to New Jersey.

"Where did Captain America learn how to steal a car?" Natasha asks "Nazi Germany." Steve says

"Mm." Natasha says "And we're borrowing. Take your feet off the dash." Steve orders. "First you say something cool and then you ruin it by being a prune, how are we brothers?" Sloan asks from the back seat.

Steve stares at him through the rearview mirror. "I ask myself that every day." Steve huffs

Sloan rolls his eyes and he leans back in his seat.

With a smirk, Natasha takes her feet off the dash "Alright, I have a question for you, oh, which you do not have to answer. I feel like if you don't answer it though, you're kind of answering it, you know?" Natasha says

"What?" Steve asks "Was that your first kiss since 1945?" Natasha ask

"That bad, huh?" Steve asks, ignoring the snicker from the back seat.

"I didn't say that." Natasha says "Well, it kind of sounds like that's what you're saying." Steve says

"No, I didn't. I just wondered how much practice you've had." Natasha says "You don't need practice." Steve says

"Everybody needs practice." Sloan pipes in. "It was not my first kiss since 1945. I'm ninety-five, I'm not dead." Steve says

"Nobody special, though?" Natasha asks

Steve chuckles "Believe it or not, it's hard to find someone with shared life experience." Steve says

"Well, that's alright, you just make something up." Natasha says "What, like you?" Steve asks

"I don't know. The truth is a matter of circumstances, it's not all things to all people all the time. And neither am I." Natasha says

"That's a tough way to live." Steve says "It's a good way not to die, though." Sloan says, his voice more quiet.

"You know, it's kind of hard to trust someone when you don't know who that someone is." Steve says "Yeah. Who do you want me to be?" Natasha ask

"How about a friend?" Steve asks

Natasha laughs softly.

"Well, there's a chance you might be in the wrong business, Rogers." Natasha says, leaning back in her seat

....

The two pull up outside an abandoned military base where the signal led them to.  Sloan steps out of the truck slowly, staring with dark eyes.

The 78th infantry.

The first base he was trained in. A place he had never wanted to return to, but his brother left no other choice.

"This is it." Steve says "The file came from these coordinates." Natasha says

"So did I." Steve says, he raises his gaze towards his brother. "So did we." He whispers
