Seo-Joon knew his father kept secrets.

Secrets that might put him in deep trouble with the law but Seo-Joon also knew that his father had his reasons. And it was to protect their little family.

The fifteen-year-old watched as Sloan dragged the two advanced teens to a group of guards, his sharp gaze hard and narrowed, as the one with silver hair spit insults in his face.

Seo-joon trailed closer, keeping his footsteps silent. He was no spy but he knew how to sneak around when necessary.

The silver-headed teen spoke in a different language but the words hit all the same. Seo-joon couldn't help but be amused, he could tell his father was annoyed.

"Okay, kid." Sloan scoffed, nodding to the guards, and ordered them away.

Seo-Joon and Pietro's eyes meet as the advanced teen gets pulled away alongside his sister. Electricity filled the air, it was brief but it hit the teen straight in the chest.

Sloan turns and finds Seo-Joon at the end of the hall, watching them. The older man sighed, "Go to your quarters." He ordered, he was starting to regret bringing the curious teen to the tower. He wanted to keep him away from all of this but didn't want him to be alone. "Who are they?" Seo-Joon asked, watching as Sloan approached him. Sloan grabbed his son's elbow and began leading him away.

"They are a couple of delinquent kids who chose the wrong path, a very bad one." Sloan states "why?" As the two continued through the tower. Sloan turns to his son. "I don't know, but whatever it was they are now here awaiting the law's judgement."

Seo was confused, what could they have done that it was an Avenger-level threat. "Do you think they deserve to be imprisoned?" Seo asked

Sloan hummed. "It's not up to me to decide."

....

Sloan stood in front of his mirror, fixing his cufflings.

"You look good dad." Seo says from on top of his father's bed, a comic in hand. Sloan looks over to his son and offers him a grin. "Thanks, are you sure you don't want to join us?" Sloan asked

Seo shook his head, "Nah, It's a grown-up party, sounds boring." Seo jokes

Sloan chuckles, "Anything with your old man is anything but boring, trust." Sloan jokes

Seo groans, shaking his head. "No way you said that to me." Seo laughs, Sloan chuckles, approaching his son and ruffling his hair. "Let me know if you need anything. And if you decide to change your mind come down." Sloan states

Seo smiles, "Thanks, dad....I'm really happy I'm here, I missed you."

Sloan's gaze softened. "Me too pal."

....

At the party.

"Do you miss him?" Steve asked his brother as the two mingled at the bar. Sloan looks up from his glass as he leans back on the counter. "Yeah, I do." Sloan states, his own honesty was shocking to even himself. "He was a good friend....a brother." The lie was a hit to his chest, but after all these years he couldn't admit to anyone who Bucky was to him. "But it's been over 70 years, he's become a distant memory, a relic of my past, all that is left is the winter soldier."

Steve swallows harshly, "Yeah I get it. But he's still a person and he needs our help." Steve states, watching as his brother takes a sip of his bourbon, his dark eyes the complete opposite of his lighter gaze. He says he understands but he really couldn't. It's just so different for him.
