Lorelei's POV:
I end the call, not at all surprised by the news I was currently receiving. As a way of maintaining distance, I moved to yet another forest. One I hadn't put on that bucket list that Rebekah had no doubt used to track me down.
I'd compelled over a dozen humans to keep watch of what was going on in New Orleans.
Sure enough, Nik had tried to track me down again. This time though, I was prepared.
And he went home empty handed.
I look down at the unconscious blonde in front of me.
He should've backed down when I told him to.
I wasn't stupid. I knew Nik wouldn't let this go.
Not easily since I'd threatened him.
I wanted him to back off.
Guess it backfired.
The woman groans, her body full of a concoction of my wolf venom and vervain, keeping her weakened. She lets out another groan then looks up for the first time, her blue eyes going wide then cold when she sees me.
"I hope you had a good nap Rebekah." I say
"What the bloody hell do you think you're doing?" She demands
With what little strength she has, she tries to break the chains binding her to the tree behind her. I know not to say too much.
In a few moments, it won't matter.
"Keeping my promise to your brother. He went out searching for me again last night."
"I defended you! You took off. You ran away and I alone defended you."
I shrug.
"I never asked you to defend me."
Soon Marcel will notice that Rebekah hadn't returned back home and word will spread.
"Have you really sunk so low that you would rather take me prisoner than have a conversation with my brother?" Rebekah demands
"Last time we "talked", he clearly didn't get the message."
"Oh by all means, you're plan is completely flawless. Aside from the fact that Nik will destroy you for this."
"No he won't. He'll be too busy trying to find his baby sister." I reply
"What are you-"
Rebekah's sentence is cut short when she gasps and looks down to see a silver dagger in her chest. I throw her over my shoulder and head out further into the darkness of the woods.
Klaus's POV:
I stand there silently as I wait for her to arrive. Hayley took Hope out of the city.
Then she appears.
Lorelei walks calmly into the foyer, a few dozen feet away from me.
"You called?"
"I was afraid you were doing something stupid. You know, since you could care less about being captured or killed."
She scoffs a little at this.
She composes herself and narrows her eyes at me in a suspicious glare.
"What do you really want Nik? Is it really so hard for you to move on?" She asks
"This is about the threats you're making against my family Lorelei. I've killed dead friends over a lot less than that."
I scan her up and down.
What's her next move going to be?
She won't attack me here. Although I'm the only one visible right now, she's too smart to assume I'd be alone. I'm not going to let her leave here without her humanity. I could never forgive myself if she died. But it's more than that. Humanity-less Lorelei was a threat.
I could never let anyone live if they wished harm upon us, it's too big a risk.
A powerful lesson I'd learned in my 1,000 + years on this planet.
I could also never forgive myself if she died by my hand. Or my family's.
"So why am I here?" She demands breaking ne from my thoughts
"You're going to flip your switch back and I'm not taking 'no' for an answer."
