Lorelei's POV:

I groan as I pause the voicemail from Nik. I'm about to call him back when I notice her walking down the street.

Katherine Pierce.

Her brown curly hair flows behind her as she crosses one street to the next. The black boots she wears clicks rhythmically on the ground. She's wearing a dark red top, leather jacket and dark blue jeans. Her hands are full with shopping bags from multiple high end stores.

She waves at a passerby and then moves towards a parking lot. When she pulls out a key and a dark black car beeps in response. The trunk opens and she turns and places the bags inside. Her back is facing me. Now's my shot.

I glance around. There's a few people walking around bringing their shopping bags to their cars, climbing in and heading out.

I should be fast enough that they don't see.

I speed over and rush her but she catches me and swings me over her, knocking me down into the pavement. I stand up quickly.

"What the hell?" She demands

I kick her ankle, knocking her down.

I enjoy a good fight but I don't have time.

While she's down, I jump on top of her and sink my fangs into her neck. She yells out loudly for a moment and slams her elbow into my face. I snatch her arm and deliver yet another bite. She's an older vampire which means she's stronger and faster than any newly turned vampires. Nik drilled this into me when I first moved in with him.

I think back to what he'd said when we stood in the study with one another before I took off:

"She will be fast and fierce. Use your venom and once she's down, snap her neck and deliver her here. I will have Hope out of the house."

I nodded and when I turned to head out, he stopped me for a moment.

"Lorelei we need her alive. She's our only lead right now to find Elijah. Do whatever you need to get here."

I snap her neck and lift her over my shoulder.

Then we speed off to New Orleans.
