Before I knew what you truly were
you were my best friend,
I could tell you my most vital words;
you were tall & charming
How could I resist?
I was so attached to the feeling of you,
I felt human in your presence
but now that I see your true invasion,
I wish I could unmeet you
& never get to know you so well,
I wish I could unsee you
& never know the way your skin hangs off of your body,
I wish I could end our friendship
& you'll never know the way my skin hangs off my body,
but every time I come back crawling to your straggling body
I end up on my bathroom floor
carving your pain into my skin
until my bones are dry.
