Remission

You were failed by your neglectful parents,

I guess you didn't know what you were doing

would stick with me

or I'd be able to recount how sticky

the rotten seaweed in my mouth was

for three years,

but no matter how much I choke on the seaweed,

I'll love you until it clogs my heart.

But sometimes my mind goes back to you suffocating me

while I try to save myself

from your heavy body on top of mine,

killing the white rose

I carefully planted it on my lawn

for nobody but myself

yet you made sure you had more control over it than anybody could.
