I Love The Old You

I know you have somebody else's problems now

and I'm not even a shooting star in your life,

but I can't love someone

the way I loved you;

though I loved you just for the thought

of loving you,

every time I try to move on

you come back

just to break me again,

Why do I still love you,

when you're nothing like the old you?

I want you to have the world

but I wish we would have lasted,

I could've been your world

and you would have all of my problems

but loving me regardless.

I'll have to let it go

and find somebody better,

but sometimes I miss us being connected,

How could we become so neglected?

Do you still miss me?

you're holding someone else now

but if you still care,

I forgive every word you said

while you were in distress

but I'm letting you go

and leaving you behind.
