Slughorn's Christmas party was set for this evening, and as I stood in front of my closet, I was overwhelmed with uncertainty about what to wear. The entire scenario felt surreal, as I hadn't been sobering in days. The constant cycle of snorting cocaine had become almost automatic; I did it whenever the effects began to fade or when the weight of my emotions grew too heavy to bear.
Fortunately, Luna had received an invitation to the event and took it upon herself to help me prepare. With her whimsical sense of style and keen eye for details, she chose an outfit that perfectly captured the festive spirit. As she busily flitted around, adorning me with glittering accessories and adjusting my hair, I watched her with a mix of admiration and envy. She seemed to embody the very essence of Christmas cheer, while I felt lost in my chaotic reality.
For me, Christmas had always been a season of heartache, a stark reminder of what I had never truly experienced. I had grown up without the warmth of holiday traditions-no colourful presents wrapped in shiny paper; no feasts of delicious food shared with family. One solitary memory rose to the surface: the time my mother had given me a present. I was just five years old, and though the details of that day were hazy, I could vividly recall the panda stuffed animal she handed me. That little creature had been my solitary comfort, still occupying a permanent spot on my bed, a constant reminder of a fleeting moment of love and joy amid a tumultuous childhood.
As we made our way to the dungeons, I couldn't shake the sensation of the small pouch nestled in my pocket, its presence igniting a tempest of longing in my mind. It felt as though the intense urges were coiled tightly within me, like a ball I desperately tried to submerge beneath the surface of my thoughts. I had been grappling with my sobriety for what felt like an eternity, consistently turning down Theo's offers. I was determined to distract myself, employing every strategy I had used before to break free from the grip of tramadol. Yet, the lure of that pouch threatened to unravel my resolve, casting a shadow over my intentions.
I adorned myself in a stunning dark blue velvet gown that shimmered under the light, its luxurious fabric exuding elegance. The gown featured puff sleeves that added a regal touch, while the heart-shaped neckline gracefully framed my collarbone. The hem of the dress danced lightly just a centimetre above the ground, allowing me to glide effortlessly without the worry of dragging or soiling the fabric. Every detail of the gown radiated sophistication, making me feel truly enchanting.
Luna was adorned in a stunning design dress, crafted entirely from recycled fabrics and materials. The intricate patterns and vibrant colours beautifully complemented her radiant personality. The fabric flowed gracefully around her as she twirled, catching the light and emphasizing her creativity. I couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of pride for her talent; there was no way I could ever replicate such an exquisite creation that not only fit her perfectly but also captured the essence of who she is as a person.
As we walked into the room where the party was held people turned and pointed at us either in admiration or in mock for our relationship because it wasn't as accepted as it should be to have a same-gender relationship and show it proudly and openly to the world without any care
I spotted Harry and Draco standing near a column talking and sipping on some drinks luna walked towards them and started talking with them.
I on the other hand was approached by Slughorn who looked down at me with a strange sort of fear and admiration at the same time it was clear that the man had already had a few drinks tonight but he wasn't completely sloshed I looked at him having to lift my head a little to meet his gaze.
