Parker stood in the corner of his father's office his mouth dry with anticipation.I'm a dead man Parker thought as he waited for his father's wrath to come crashing down on his shoulders. My dad is going to kill me. Why did I have to be so stupid?

Parker then heard the door and he found himself unable to breathe for a moment.

"Um, Parker." Rodger said. "Why are you standing in the corner?"

His father was talking to customers when he walked back into the dealership. He did not want to disturb him so he asked the new sales manager to tell him that he was in his office and then put himself in the corner.

He figured that he was going to wind up there anyway.

Parker did not turn to face him. "Look at your phone." Parker told him. "Its on your desk."

He heard his father's footsteps as walked over to the desk. Each one heralding his eventual doom.

"Parker!" He raised his voice causing his son to jump. "What happened?"

"I...."

"Get over here." Rodger said.

He turned and looked at his father. He was not happy. As he slowly walked over to him a phrase he heard in history entered his mind. We who are about to die salute you.

Parker walked up to his father unable to maintain eye contact with him. "Look at me Parker." Rodger said and with all his might he forced himself to look at him. "Now what happened?"

Parker told him about his conversation with Spencer. How the only reason he was calling him was to get everyone off his back and his Xbox back. How he got upset he got with his continual rejection of him.

"So you threw the phone."

"Yes." Parker said. "And it hit the door of a red Miata."

"Parker." He said in dismay.

"It put a slight scratch in the door."

Rodger facepalmed. "Parker."

"I'm sorry dad." Parker said. "I didn't mean it to throw your phone but I was so angry."

"I need you to go back into the corner while I go check on the car."

"Yes dad." Parker retreated to the corner.

"When I get back I will decide what I am going to do with you." Rodger then walked out.

Rodger's phone rang. He could see a name appear in the shattered screen. His eyes narrowed and growled. "Spencer."  He hit accept and then said in a wrathful tone. "What is wrong with you?" He said as walked out of the dealership.

"Hey don't yell at me dad I was just trying to apologize to the kid." Spencer said. "I didn't mean to get him upset."

"You may not have meant to but you certainly succeeded with that non apology of yours."  Rodger chided. "Because of your inability to think of anyone but yourself your brother is now in trouble for throwing and breaking my phone."

"Don't blame me because he can't control his temper."

"But I do blame you Spencer." Rodger said sharply. "He would not have lost his temper if you had just given him a sincere apology but you couldn't do that could you? You couldn't evem pretend for minute that you felt slightest bit of remorse for how you treated him."

"Let me talk to him again." Spencer said. "I promise that I will do better this time."

"No I'm not putting your brother through that again." Rodger said. "Besides I don't think my phone would survive another conversation with you."
