"What the hell is wrong with you?" An enraged Linda Smith yelled at her oldest son as her body trembled with a righteous fury.

"Calm down mom." Spencer said with an annoyed look.

"Don't you dare tell me to calm down Spencer Marvin Cole." The forty year old woman said with gritted teeth. "I am so angry with you right now." She clenched her fists. "I am beyond angry, I'm absolutely livid." She shook her dismay. "Why did you do it?"

"Do what?" Meredith Cole said as she walked into the living room.  She had just put their children to bed when she heard her mother in law shouting.
"What did he do this time?"

"Nothing." Spencer said nervously. "I didn't do nothing." He swallowed against the hard lump that had formed in his throat.

"Stop with the lies Spencer." The exasperated woman said.

"What did he did do?" Meredith asked Linda knowing that she was not going to get the truth from her husband.

"He told Grahm and the others that Parker hated them." Linda told her.

Shock rippled across Meredith's face. "You did what?" She said. "Why would you do something so terrible?"

"I didn't." Spencer said. "I never said that." He then looked at his mother with a hurt look across his face  "You gotta believe me mom I never said that to Graham." His voice trembled as he spoke. "I would never do something like that."

He could see that neither woman believed him.

"Honest." He said.

"There is not an honest bone in your body." Linda said.

His face fell and he looked on the verge of tears. "I can't believe you don't believe me." Pain was in his voice as he spoke. "That you actually believe I would be so cruel."

"Oh stop it." Meredith said with disgust in her voice. "No one is falling for your little act."

"Its not an act." He began to tear up. "I'm innocent of this. Graham is lying."

"Why would Graham lie about something like this?" Linda asked.

"I don't know." Spencer said. "Maybe Parker put him up to it." He then smirked. "I bet he did that little bastard."

At that moment Linda did something to her son that she had never done before. That she had never once had ever thought of doing. She gave him a hard smack across the side of his face.

"Don't you dare call your brother that." She yelled at her son who looked at her in utter shocked. He took step back, hold the side of his face as he tried to process what just happened.

"You hit me." He then said once he regained the ability to speak. "I can't believe you hit me. Your own son."

"And I can't believe you called your own a brother a bastard."

"Well he is a bastard." Linda took a menacing step towards him causing him to jump back. "Please don't hit me." He yelled. "I'm sorry."

"Sorry does not even begin to describe you Spencer." Meredith shook her head.

"Tell me why you did it." Linda said.

"I don't know." Spencer said with a shrug. "I just did."

"You just did." Linda said disdainfully. "You decided you wanted to tell a hurtful lie about your brother for the heck of it, sabotaging his relationship with Graham, slandering him for the hell of it."

"Pretty much." Spencer said without remorse.

"I am so ashamed of you."

"Why do you even care so much?" Spencer asked.

"Because he is my son." Linda yelled. "Parker is my son and you hurt him not once but two times today."

Spencer let out a derisive smirk. "Since when mother?" He asked. "Since when do you give a damn about him."

Linda blinked and with emotion in her voice. "Since now." She jabbed her finger at the floor. Linda shook her head. "You know what I can't even be in the same room with you right now." She told him. "I'm so disappointed in you and until you make this right with your brothers I don't want anything to do with you.'

"You can't be serious."

"Oh I am serious." Linda said. "You better call both of them and apologize."

"And make it a real apology this time." Meredith said. "A sincere, genuine apology."

Spencer did not say anything.

"I should go before I say something that I really regret." Linda said. "Ill talk to you tomorrow Meredith."

"Okay."

"Call your brothers." Linda said.

"Not going to happen.."

"Then I guess you and I won't be talking for awhile."

"Don't care." Spencer said.

Linda then walked ou and Meredith glowered at him as she said "You should probably find somewhere else to sleep tonight."

His face fell. "What?"

"You heard me." She said. "I don't want you anywhere near me right now." She then walked off.

"Meredith." Spencer said only for her to ignore him. He then let out a sigh as he said "Damn you Parker."
