Westfield Academy...
Christine and her mother arrived shortly before seven o'clock at the school. Part of her punishment for behavior was to serve morning detention for the rest of the week which promptly started at seven. The car pulled into a space in front of the school and Melinda put it into park. To her annoyance Christine did not move. She just sat in the passenger staring at the front doors her face frozen in an perpetually angry scowl.
"Get out." Melinda ordered.
"This is stupid." Christine said as she got out of the car and then slammed the door.
She was about to walk into the school when she heard her mother yell. "Hey!" She turned to look at her mother who marched over to her with a severe look across her face. "Do you want the belt again?"
Christine gulped hard as she rubbed her backside which still ached from the two spankings she recieved yesterday. The one from her mother when they got home being the more intense. The thought of being whipped again cause a icy chill to race up her spine.
"No." Christine said still glarimg at her mom.
"Then you better stop testing me little girl.." Melinda said not intimidated by her daughter's dirty looks. "Because I've had it with you."
I've had it with you too Christine though but did not dare say. "Yes, mom." She said trying to sound as contrite as she possibly could not wanting to give her another to spank her or add another two weeks to her punishment.
"Go." Melinda pointed her boney index finger at the door.
The two walked in and to her surprise she saw Wesley in the foyer talking to Kip. Her eyes lit up at the sight of him as she wondered what he was doing there. Was he in morning detention too she wondered.
"Wesley." She said.
A nervous smile crossed Wesley's face. "I'll talk to you later." He said to Kip and then walked over to them. Kip headed to the cafeteria where early arrivals went for morning care. "Hi Christine."
"Hi Wesley." Christine said unable to stop smiling. Why is he here so early? She wondered if it had to do with the stupid rumors that were going around the school about them yesterday.
"Hi Christine." He gave Melinda an uneasy look. "Hi Mrs. West."
"Hi Wesley." Het nose twitched as she greeted the boy. "How is your mom?"
"Mom." Christine said giving her a wary look.
Disconfort crossed the seventeen year old's face as he said "She is doing great."
"That is good to hear." Melinda said. "Have her give me a call, I would love to catch up with her." A malicious smile crossed her face. "Maybe the two of us could go out for a drink."
"Mom." Christine shouted mortified while Wesley blinked in pain. Christine looked at her mother stunned at her creulty.
"I better go." Wesley said extremely uncomfortable.
"See you Wesley." Christine gave him an apologetic look.
"See you."
"Mrs. West." He turned and walked towards the cafeteria. "Bitch." He said under his breath.
"I can't believe you said that." Christine said in disbelief.
"Stop being so dramatic I meant go out for coffee."
"No you didn't." Christine said.
"Yes I did." Melinda said. "Though his mom would probably prefer her coffee with a little Irish in it."
"You're horrible." Christine said.
"And you are going to be late for detention." She gave her a hard smack across the backside. "Go." She said as Christine cried out in pain.
She then grabbed her arm and pulled her down the hall to the library.
"Ow." Christine cried.
"Oh stop." She said yanking on her arm harder. One of the teachers stepped out of a classroom and Melinda quickly released her.
"Good morning." Melinda said pleasantly acting as if nothing happened.
"Morning." The teacher said. The teacher took a sip of her coffee as she watched the two walk by and then returned to her classroom.
The two walked up to the library door and Melinda pulled on her arm stopping from going in. A icy look was in her eyes as she said "You better be on your best behavior today. I don't want to hear any complaints from your teachers you understand me."
"Yes mom." Christine said rubbing her arm.
"Because if I have to interrupt my day by coming here again because of you I am not going to happy." Melinda said. "I might just have to tell Mister Cole that poor Parker won't be able to take to you for the entire summer."
A look of horror crossed her face. "You wouldn't."
Her eyes narrowed. "Try me little girl.'
"I hate you." Christine said tearing up once again.
"The feelings mutual." Melinda said and Christine blinked. "Now get inside."
Christine wiped her eyes and then walked into the library.
A satisfied look crossed Melinda's face as she walked down the hall. She entered the foyer and was about to leave as the malicious look entered her eyes once again. She then walked in and asked the secretary if she could talk to Dean LaMee.
Twenty minutes later Christine sat at a table bored out of her mind. The equally bored PE teacher Mister Shaw sat at the desk in the front anxiously awaiting for morning detention to be over so he could go to class.
Two other students were in detention as well. One was the boy Billy who had been in school suspension with the her the day before and was standing in the corner. Another was a boy who she did not know who had his head on the table he was at.
Christine let out an impatient sigh as she thought how she was not looking forward to another day in library surrounded by people beneath her.
But I will endure it for mine and Parker's sake.
The door then opened and to her surprise Wesley waked with an angry look across his face. The boy with his head on the table looked up for one moment to see who the new arrival was and then put his head back down. Billy just continued to stand in the corner. Christine could not help but feel sorry for him.
Wesley said something to Mister Shaw who told him to take a seat.
Christine watched as Wesley walked to the table in front of her, dropped his bookbag on the table and sat down.
"Wesley what are you doing here?:
He turned with a look of fury in his eyes. "Your mom told Dean LaMee that I called her a bitch and now I have detention until lunch."
"She didn't." Christine said in shock.
"She did."
What a witch she thought. "Did you tell her what she said about your mom."
"Yes that is why he decided not to paddle me as well." Wesley said. "Which is what she wanted."
"I can't believe her."
"I can't believe she heard me say it."
"She probably didn't." Christine said. "She probably just wanted to get you in trouble to punish me or annoy your mom." Spiteful, evil bitch she thought.
"Well whatever the reason I have twenty five demerits and detention now." Wesley said incensed.
"I'm so sorry."
"Christine, Wesley stop talking." Shaw said not looking up from his magazine. Wesley turned around and sunk into seat as his blood boiled.
This is really going to fuel the gossip mongers he thought.
