After hanging up with Linda there was a knock at his door. He looked up to see Carson in the doorway. "All done?"

"Yes, sir." Carson said as he walked in.

"How did it go?"

"I think it went well." Carson replied.

"I'm sure it did."

"Do you think the police really press charges?" Carson inquired.

"I think they will." Rodger said. "Especially after they speak with your brothers."

"I hope so." Carson said as his stomach began to do somersaults. "I just cant wait to be free of them."

"You will be Carson." Rodger said. "You wont have to live in fear of them or Mister Gaines anymore."

Again Carson smiled at the peace it brought him. At the idea of no longer living in constant fear. It seemed too good to be true.

Carson's stomach then grumbled reminding him of why he he walked into Rodger's office. He looked at Roger and for a moment an unseen force seemed to wrap itself around him, restraining him from being able to speak at that moment.

"Is everything okay."

"Yes, sir." Carson looked away and scratched his ear. He wanted to say he that he was going out to eat with Kenny. Like any normal eighteen year old would. But at that moment he did not feel like an adult, again he felt like a child who needed permission to speak let alone go out to eat. "Would it be okay." Carson began to utter But drew in a breath stopping himself.

Come on be a man Carson ordered himself.

"Kenny and I are going to get lunch." He forced him to stay and then felt his stomach beginning to tie itself into tight knots.

He then waited for his reaction. Carson could hear his father's voice saying absolutely not, forbidding him from having anything to do with him, saying he was a bad influence.

"Have fun." He said non chantly.

Relief then flooded Carson. He was not sure what he was going to say if Rodger had said no.

No I know what I would have done he thought. I would have meekly said yes sir and then told Kenny I could not go.

"Is it okay if i have Kenny drop me off at the house?"

"Are you finished with your trainig?" Rodger asked.

"Yes, sir." Carson said softly.

"That will be fine." Rodger shrugged. "Just be careful." Rodger said as he got up from his desk and then walked over to him. "We still don't know who that was asking for you earlier or if there are other homes your parents hired to abduct you."

"I will sir." Carson said feeling a lump begin to grow in his throat.

"Come on I will walk you to the car." Rodger said and wondered if he should have Jubbs follow them just in case.

They walked down the hall where Kenny waited for them at the main entrance. "Is everything good?"

"Everything is fine." Rodger said.  "As I told Carson be aware of your surroundings."

"We will." Kenny said.

"And behave yourself." Rodger said.

Carson's spine went ramrod straight. "I will sir."

"He was talking to me." Kenny said with a small grin. "I'll try but I won't make any promises."

The two turned around and a sour expression crossed Kenny's face as he saw who was walking towards them. The person greeted him and Kenny gnashed his teeth as he said hello back. He then shot him a death glare as he walked past him.

"Hello Rodger." The man said in an overly cheerful tone.

"What are you doing here Justin?" Rodger said with disdain in his voice.

"Just stopping by to see how my store is doing."

"Its not your store anymore." Roger replied as he watched the two get into Kenny's car. "And its doing fine." Better now that you are not here Rodger mused.

"Is it really?"

"Yes."

Kenny's car pulled out of the spot.

"Was that Silas' boy?" Justin looked at the car as it made its way through the parking lot.

"Yes." Rodger said as the car made a right.

"Is he working here now?"

"He is."

"That's surprising." Justin said. "I would think that Silas would have him work with him so he could keep any eye on him."

"Actually he is living with me now." Rodger said.

"How did that happen."

Rodger was going to inform him that it was not any of his business. Instead he found himself telling Justin the entire sordid story.

Justin's face went from shock to horror and then fury.

"Gaines." Justin said. "As in Gaines pharmacy."

"Yes."

A look of disgust filled Justin's face. "That explains it."

"Explains what?"

"Why Gaines was such a big client of his when Silas was here." Justin said. "Originally Gaines was Hubert Long's client but suddenly he switched to Silas and instead of buying a car a year for his business he was buying three. I asked Silas why Gaines was buying so many cars now and he said it was because his business was expanding." A look of disgust crossed his face. "But now I know why he was such a repeat customer."

A sickening feeling came over him. "Wait are you saying..." Rodger could not finish the sentence.

"Silas was pimping his sons out to Gaines to sell cars." Justin said.

"I need...." Rodger held his stomach as he was sure he was about to get sick. "I need to call Owen."

"I'll come with you." Justin said with ire in his voice.

Meanwhile as Kenny and Carson drove down the road a red car began to follow them.
