Darkness fought with the Light. And it was quickly overpowering it. Sophie stood in between the clashing forces, stuck between saving her friends or saving the light. It was always a hard choice, choosing between those you love, and the world. And not everyone made good choices when it comes to the hard decisions. But Sophie was going to make the right one- No matter what.

Even if the green-eyed boy and the grey-eyed girl tried to persuade her otherwise.

"Join me," a voice whispered. "I'll protect you... and your friends. I will never let anyone harm you ever again. Just join me."

Sophie shot up in bed. She had had that same re-accuring dream for the past three weeks now, ever since she woke up in the middle of Havenfield without remembering anything that had happened over the past few weeks. And the weird thing was neither did anyone else. Keefe couldn't remember, Edaline couldn't, Grady couldn't. But they all had the same picture of the girl and boy.

They all remember the sea green eyes and black hair, and that powerful aroma about him... and the grey-eyed girl with a demanding presence. But all that they could remember about them was how they looked.

Sophie's head started to pound. Whenever she thought too hard about the mysterious people, she wanted to pass out. But that just made her want to know more about them.

Sophie clapped her hands together and her curtains slowly opened elegantly. She swept her legs out of her bed and slipped on her slippers.

Six days ago, she had asked Edaline about them, and Eda had ended up passing out. So Sophie had avoided talking about them altogether. She dragged herself down to the kitchen where Edaline was already up and cooking.

"Morning, Mom," said Sophie quietly. It was pretty early, and since it was the one day of the week Grady could sleep in, Sophie was extra careful not to wake him.

"Morning hun. I've got breakfast cooking." Edaline pressed a kiss to Sophie's temple and swept her daughter into a hug.

Sophie smiled at her. "Thanks. I think I'm going to go on a walk first. I just need clear my head."

Edaline nodded. "Smart kid." She let out a laugh. "That Keefe bothering you?"

The brown-eyed elf giggled. "Always. But a good kind of bothering." Edaline's eyes twinkled with something she couldn't quite place. With that, Sophie tiptoed out the door.

She walked past the fields, past Verdi, past the romantic spot Keefe had taken her so very long ago (but not before smiling at it nostalgically). She walked until she came upon another clearing, however, this one was thousands of times less romantic. In fact, it was creepy. Eery, even. Miss flicked from the trees, barely any light came through he canopy of leaves overhead, darkness taking over the clearing almost completely if it weren't for the lone glow worms crawling around everywhere.

Sophie saw something golden glinting on the other end of the clearing. Curious, she walked towards it. She reached down and scooped it up. Cleared of the dirt. And cocked her head curiously.

It was big like one of those 50 cent coins, but gold, and Greek maybe?

How peculiar, Sophie thought.

She pocketed the money and began heading back home, deciding to worry about it tomorrow and not ruin this amazing day.
