Finding You, Part 6, Chapter 31,
at Skye/Lorenzo
Skye was downstairs working on paperwork for Jax's company, which she was currently running until Josslyn was old enough to manage it. She still missed Jax and blamed herself for his death when Josslyn came in.
"Josslyn," Skye said, "Sorry for coming here, but I need to talk to you about my father's company."
"Sure, soon you will have it. I know you'll do a great job, and I will help you if you want," Skye said.
"I don't want my father's company. I'm not a businessperson. Yes, I miss my father. I only remember some of him, but I can't disappoint him," Josslyn said.
"You will not disappoint your father. He loved you, Josslyn," Skye said.
"I know, I just can't do it," Josslyn said.
"You're still young. Why don't you come and watch me run it?" Skye asked.
"Maybe. I just don't know if I can be that reckless like my father was," Josslyn said.
"True. Jax was a reckless businessman," Skye said.
"Yes, and so are you. That's why Daddy chose you to run the company over Mother," Josslyn said.
"Partially," Skye said.
"Before Daddy died, did he love you or my mother?" Josslyn asked.
"Your father loved your mother because of you," Skye replied.
"Thanks, Skye," Josslyn said.
"You're welcome," Skye said as Genevieve came downstairs.
"Why is she here?" Genevieve asked.
"To talk to me about her father's company that I run, and soon Josslyn will," Skye explained.
"Yes, my father was a real businessman, unlike yours," Josslyn said.
"For once, you're right," Genevieve admitted.
"Anyway, thank you, Skye," Josslyn said.
"You're welcome," Skye answered. Josslyn left.
"Mother, did Josslyn's father love you? Is that why he gave you the company?" Genevieve inquired.
"We were married, but it ended badly," Skye answered.
"What did you do, Mother?" Genevieve asked.
"It was both of our faults," Skye replied.
"Whatever. I'm going out," Genevieve said.
"Really? All by yourself?" Skye questioned.
"Yes, Mother. I'm not a kid. I'm a woman, and I can go out by myself. I don't need you to babysit me," Genevieve declared.
"Genevieve, I'm not here to babysit you, and I don't think you're ready to go out alone," Skye said.
"Well, you can't stop me," Genevieve challenged.
"Where are you going? I can go with you," Skye offered.
"Mother, go call Lila Rae if you want to come shopping," Genevieve said before leaving.
"Damn it!" Skye yelled as Lorenzo entered.
"What is it?" Lorenzo asked.
"What do you think? Genevieve just left wanting to go out alone, and I think it's too soon. I keep trying to get close to Genevieve, and she pulls away," Skye said.
"I'm sorry. It'll be fine," Lorenzo reassured.
"Why do you say that?" Skye asked.
"I put GPS on Genevieve's phone; we'll know where she is," Lorenzo explained.
"Oh, Lorenzo. Thank you," Skye said.
"Soon, we'll know where Genevieve is," Lorenzo said, pulling out his phone.
At Skylar's Art Gallery, Skylar was making sure everything was perfect. She was nervous for tonight when Genevieve came in with two cups of coffee.
"Genevieve, what are you doing here?" Skylar asked.
"I'm here to help you set up for tonight. I brought you some coffee," Genevieve said.
"Thank you," Skylar said.
"You're welcome. Besides, I need a break from Mother," Genevieve admitted.
"I know. Mother can drive you crazy, but she loves us," Skylar said.
"Yeah. Skylar, did our parents buy you this place?" Genevieve inquired.
"Genevieve," Skylar protested.
"I thought so. It's just to say they're sorry and want you to forgive them," Genevieve said.
"Genevieve, I can't live with anger. I've let it go. Yes, I will never forget, but I have forgiven," Skylar stated.
"Oh, Skylar," Genevieve said.
"It's not good to hold in all this anger. I'm sorry about your feelings, but right now, I need to get ready for tonight," Skylar said.
"Fine. Can I help?" Genevieve asked.
"Sure," Skylar agreed.
At Skye/Lorenzo, "Where is Genevieve?" Skye asked.
"At Skylar's art gallery," Lorenzo replied.
"Oh, maybe she wants to help get ready for tonight," Skye suggested.
"I guess," Lorenzo said.
"I'm so glad we brought Skylar to that gallery. Not to get us to forgive us, but I know Skylar loves it," Skye said.
"Yes, she does. I'm happy too," Lorenzo said.
"I guess I was worried for nothing. I just wish Genevieve told me where she was going," Skye said.
"I know," Lorenzo agreed.
"I guess I'll never get close to her," Skye sighed.
"I'm sorry, Skye," Lorenzo said.
"I just want to be the perfect mother," Skye admitted.
"You are," Lorenzo said, kissing her.
On the docks, a woman was present. "I'm back. You can never kill me. I will destroy her for hurting my prince," the woman vowed.
Genevieve arrived at the docks, looking at her phone and not noticing the woman. She ran into her.
"Watch where you're going," the woman snapped.
"Sorry," Genevieve apologized.
"Whatever. Just get out of my way," the woman dismissed.
Genevieve left hurriedly.
