Finding You Part 6 Chapter 23
~The Next Day~
At Skye and Lorenzo's...
Genevieve was sleeping in bed when Skye came in. "Baby, wake up," Skye said as she gently woke Genevieve. "What, mother? It's early," Genevieve replied.
"I know. You need to take your meds and clean your burn," Skye said.
"After I go back to bed, I'm tired," Genevieve responded.
"You did a lot yesterday," Skye said, handing Genevieve her pills and a glass of water.
"Yes, it was worth it to see Alexander. I hope the doctors say I can see him again," Genevieve said.
"I hope they do let you. It was good for both of you," Skye said, removing her mask.
"Mother, do you think Alexander will still love me when he sees this scar on my face?" Genevieve asked.
"Oh, baby, yes. A real man loves a woman flaws and all, and it's the same for women," Skye replied.
"Is that why you love Daddy? Because you're both not perfect?" Genevieve asked as she took off her top so Skye could clean her back.
"Yes, no one is perfect," Skye said.
Genevieve turned around so Skye could clean her back.
"Yeah, Alexander does have some flaws. He gets mad when business deals don't go his way and he's stubborn," Genevieve added.
Skye finished cleaning and helped Genevieve put on her top before turning around.
"Yeah, you're stubborn too," Skye commented.
"I know. It wasn't easy when we had our first fight because of it," Genevieve said.
"What was it about?" Skye asked.
"It was nothing. It happened in Italy. I think we just spent too much time together," Genevieve responded.
"Yeah, the first fight is stupid," Skye agreed.
"Thanks, mom. I'm going to rest now," Genevieve said.
"You're welcome, baby," Skye replied. Skye felt good knowing she could finally take care of her daughter and that Genevieve was opening up to her.
Skye kissed Genevieve, got off the bed, and left.
Downstairs~ Lorenzo was in his robe, pouring some coffee when Skye came down.
"Skye, do you want some coffee?" Lorenzo asked.
"Yes, please," Skye replied.
Lorenzo poured her a cup, and they sat on the couch, Lorenzo pulling her into his arms.
"This is nice. Just us before the kids wake up," Lorenzo said.
"Yes, it is," Skye agreed.
"Did you give Genevieve her pills?" Lorenzo asked.
"Yes. She's so tired from yesterday. It was a big day for her, going out for the first time," Skye said.
"Yes, it was," Lorenzo agreed.
"I do like that she's opening up to me," Skye said.
"Good," Lorenzo responded as Lila Rae entered.
"Mother, you're not ready?" Lila Rae asked.
"For what?" Skye replied.
"We're going to New York for a fashion show, remember? Just us and some shopping," Lila Rae explained.
"Oh, Lila Rae, I forgot. I can't make it this time," Skye said.
"Mother," Lila Rae protested.
"Lila Rae, I have to take care of your sister," Skye responded.
"Hire a nurse for the day. We've had this plan for months," Lila Rae argued.
"Lila Rae, no," Skye countered.
"Mother, this is important for the company. Daddy, you can watch Genevieve, right?" Lila Rae asked.
"Yes, Skye, go ahead," Lorenzo said.
"Fine. Let me check on Genevieve," Skye said and went upstairs.
"I know Mom wants to fix things with Genevieve, but she needs a break too," Lila Rae said.
"Yes," Lorenzo agreed.
Genevieve's Room~Genevieve was sleeping when Skye entered. She brushed her hair and kissed her on the cheek.
"My baby girl," Skye said, fixing Genevieve's blankets. She then went downstairs.
"Genevieve is resting. Lorenzo, I think it's best if she stays home today," Skye said.
"Alright," Lorenzo replied.
Genevieve listened from the stairs as Skye talked downstairs.
When Skye entered her room, she said, "I don't know about this. I need to take care of your sister."
"Skye, it will be fine," Lorenzo said.
"Will you stay with her the whole time?" Skye asked.
"I'll try. I might need to go to the coffee shop," Lorenzo replied.
"Lorenzo, please," Skye begged.
"Alright, I will stay here," Lorenzo agreed.
"Thank you. Maybe have a nice breakfast with Genevieve, just the two of you—it's a good way to fix things," Skye said.
"I know. Now just relax," Lorenzo responded. They shared a kiss, and Skye left with Lila Rae.
Genevieve went back to her room.
