Finding You Part 6, Chapter 37 – The Next Day
At Skye/Lorenzo's house—Skye was downstairs pouring herself some coffee when Lila Rae entered.
"Mother, are you okay? You look worried," Lila Rae said.
"I'm about your sister," Skye replied.
"What did Genevieve do now?" Lila Rae asked.
"Genevieve wants to move back to her hotel. She's not ready, and I can't let her. I'm scared of leaving your sister alone," Skye explained.
"Why are you so scared to leave Genevieve alone?" Lila Rae asked as Skylar entered.
"Yes, Mother, what is going on with my twin?" Skylar asked.
"Oh Skylar, Lila Rae, the other day your sister tried to hurt herself," Skye said, crying.
"No! Why didn't my twin instinct kick in?" Skylar exclaimed.
"Oh, baby, it's not your fault," Skye reassured.
"Why did Genevieve try to kill herself?" Lila Rae asked.
"Genevieve is just scared of losing her independence. She wants to move back to her hotel, but I don't think that's a good idea," Skye said.
"Let me talk to her," Skylar suggested.
"Alright, take her some coffee. She drank a lot last night," Skye said.
"No," Skylar replied. Genevieve then came down with her bags in her hand.
"Genevieve, you're up," Skye said.
"Yes, I'm going back to my place, Skylar, Lila Rae," Genevieve said.
"Genevieve, please don't do this. Let us work this out. I will try to back off more and give you some freedom," Skye pleaded as Lorenzo entered.
"What is going on? Genevieve, what's with your bags?" Lorenzo asked.
"I'm going back to my place," Genevieve said.
"I don't think so," Lorenzo said, grabbing her bags.
"Give them back to me," Genevieve demanded.
"No," Lorenzo replied.
"Stop treating me like a child! I'm a woman all the way," Genevieve said.
"Then act like one," Lorenzo yelled, just as Nikolas came in.
"Sorry," Nikolas said.
"It's fine. Is Alexander okay?" Genevieve asked.
"Yes, Alexander is fine. He wanted me to pick up some of his belongings he had on him when he came into the hospital, but they didn't have them. I was wondering if you do," Nikolas said.
"No, I don't. What is Alexander looking for?" Genevieve asked.
"I promise not to say, but it's a ring," Nikolas replied.
"What! Alexander was going to propose to me?" Genevieve exclaimed.
"Yes," Nikolas confirmed.
"Why didn't he?" Skylar asked.
"Wait, our last day—that morning, Alexander wore his blue suit, which he knows I love. He looked so handsome in it. We were supposed to have a romantic night—dinner and a walk in the park. That's where he was going to propose!" Genevieve said.
"Why didn't he?" Skylar asked again.
"We fought big time. We've never had a fight like that before. Usually, we come to an agreement, but I was so mad at Alexander. I wonder where the ring is," Genevieve said.
"Me too. I'd like it back," Nikolas said.
"I'm sure you'll find it," Skye said.
Lorenzo looked scared, and Genevieve looked at him.
"Daddy, do you know anything about the ring?" Genevieve asked.
"No," Lorenzo replied.
"I hope the hospital finds it," Skye said.
"Me too," Nikolas said and left.
"Genevieve, why don't we go to the country club?" Skylar suggested.
"That sounds like fun. I'll go with you," Lila Rae said.
"We all will," Skye agreed.
"I still want to move," Genevieve declared.
"We know," Skye replied.
"Let's get ready," Skylar said, and they went upstairs.
"That was a close one," Skye said.
"Yes, it was," Lorenzo agreed.
In Genevieve's room—Genevieve and Skylar were talking.
"Skylar, I need your help. I think Daddy has the ring," Genevieve said.
"I think so too," Skylar responded.
"You believe me?" Genevieve asked.
"Yes," Skylar affirmed.
"I have to get out of this house," Genevieve said.
"First, let's find the ring," Skylar suggested.
"All right," Genevieve agreed.
