Chapter One

Arielle's POV

I woke up with a slight jerk as I quickly sat up, stretching as I did so. My face contorted in disgust as I felt something freaking wet and slimy underneath.

I rolled over a bit to find blood stains on the mattress of my soft bed. Dammit, what the hell was that?

"Mommy!" I yelled. In seconds, footsteps followed as my mom entered my room frantically. I noticed that she had a wooden ladle in her hands. Was she cooking just now?

I smelled a whiff of chicken soup fluttering into the room, forgetting all about the sickening feeling underneath and the blood stain.

"What's wrong, honey?" She asked, worry laced in her tone. I rolled over and let her examine my favorite Beauty and the Beast mattress sheets.

"Come on, let's get you cleaned up." She chuckled, pulling me out of the bed as she led me into her room. Placing the ladle at one side, she made me go into the bathroom as she went to get something.

Dad was asleep like a log, his snores literally booming throughout the room as though they were speakers. If not for the task at hand, I would have went over to him and pinched his nose to wake him up.

That would be funny.

Mom entered the bathroom and locked the door as she made me bathe. I was reluctant at first but seeing the blood stains on my pink underwear made me sigh.

xxxx

The thing she made me wore was so damn uncomfortable. I didn't like it a bit. It was as though my vagina was sucked that there was no air in between. Horrible feeling. Yikes.

And the wet feeling that was making me uncomfortable was ten times worse. Not to mention, my stomach was in pain as though someone was eating away my fats.

"Mommy, I don't like the feeling." I whined, swinging my legs in annoyance as I sat on the bar stool, watching her cook.

"Honey, you will soon grow to be okay with it. Just bear with it for a week, alright?"

"A week? Are you kidding me?"

"Do I look like I do?"

"Oh, mom." I grunted, knocking my forehead against my folded arms. I was hating this feeling so much.

"Drink this warm water and it will make your stomach feel better." She said, handing me a glass of warm water.

"Are you sure?" I asked with wide eyes. My eyes zoomed into the glass as I stared at it curiously. How will this thing make my stomach feel better? Was she trying to trick me or something?

"Drink it, Arielle." She sighed, scooping soup onto a large bowl. I groaned in frustration and gulped it down as I stared into space, waiting for miracle to happen.

Sure enough, my stomach felt better from the pain. A smile reached from my lips to my cheeks as I stared at the empty glass.

This was miracle.

"I should drink loads of it so that I can fight back the monsters in my stomach. Wait till I get you, you stupid monsters." I growled, sending punches into thin air.

"What is my little princess doing? Mimicking the ninjas?" I looked up and grinned at the sight of my dad.

"Ninjas don't fight with punches, dad. They fight with the weapons with spiky edge on it. Hai-ya!" I mimicked one of them and pretended to throw the weapon at my dad.

He caught it and placed it into his mouth. "You lose. Now drink the soup, my dear princess." He said, pushing a bowl of chicken soup towards me.

I gratefully took it from him as my wolfy nose began sniffing in the air. The smell of chicken soup filled my nostrils as I sighed, as if I was in heaven.

I took a few spoons before I felt full. This was abnormal. Normally, I would have had the appetite to drink more than one bowl of chicken soup.

"Mom, that blood is making me lose my appetite." I whined, pushing the bowl away from me. "What blood?" Dad questioned in concern.

"It's called period, honey. You will be fine after a week." She assured, patting on my head gently. "My daughter has finally grown up. She is now experiencing her first period." My dad grinned as he remarked.

"No, I wish I wasn't. It is awful." I complained, rubbing my stomach.

"You will be fine, honey. Go to the backyard and water the lilies for me. You can pick some and make a flower crown later." She said, kissing my forehead as she patted on my backside gently.

"Okay, mommy." I pouted as I rushed to the backyard.

Before I could reach the backyard, I had forgotten to ask her where she last kept the watering can. I rushed back into the living room, tip-toeing my way to the kitchen as the tension suddenly became serious.

"Seems like we will have to pack and head to their pack tomorrow. They have called to remind us to fulfil the terms."

"What about Arielle? Are we leaving her here?"

"We will be gone for two weeks and I am not sure if bringing Arielle to an unfamiliar territory would be a good idea."

"Don't worry, I will be a good child when the time comes." I blurted, grinning when they caught me. "Arielle, come here." Mom said, her hands resting on her hips as she glared at me.

"Raise your hand." She said. I did as I was told and closed my eyes to embrace the beating. She gave me one stroke on my palm in which I gasped in pain.

Dad pulled me against his chest as he blew away the pain on my palm.

"Do you know why I punish you?"

"Because I eavesdropped on your conversation when I am not supposed to." I pouted, looking down as I felt tears brimming.

"Look at the consequences of spoiling her, Nathaniel. Spoil her again and you will sleep on the floor every night." She huffed, folding her arms.

I watched dad pursed his lips into a thin line as he looked down at me, giving me a wink.

I winked back and grinned. "Mommy, can I tag along to the pack as well? I really want to go." I pleaded, giving her my cutest puppy eyes.

"Okay, honey." She sighed, shaking her head in disbelief.

I grinned and jumped in joy as I did a little dance. It was called the 'Arielle's dance'.

I named it.
