Chapter Forty-One

Tristan's POV

It has been two days since my mate has contacted me through the mind link. I was so confused at this moment, the mysterious woman who had captured her is her friend?

Though she is able to mind link me through her wolf, but something was off..

The fact that the mysterious woman's background was unknown made her really dangerous. She must be forced to contact me and announce that she is safe while she is being tortured or probably suffering from some unknown magic from that woman who could teleport and disappear in thin air.

My wolf was getting restless and so was I. The fact that she is still with her makes me uneasy.

I totally couldn't focus on my pack due to the disappearance of my mate, and she isn't here with me right now. My temper grew from bad to worse, constantly venting my frustrations on any pack members who disrupts me.

My Beta and third-in-command probably had taken the most, out of the pack members since they interacted with me daily. As much as I felt guilty for taking it out on them, but I couldn't help it.

The absence of my mate is slowly killing me and I can't do anything about it.

My warriors have been guarding the forests where my mate was taken to another world by the mysterious woman. Until today, they have not come back with any news which frustrates me.

Things were getting out of hand for me, and I was starting to thrash the perfect study room into pieces. I was slowly losing myself to the monster inside of me, even my Beta had warned me that my eyes were starting to turn red gradually.

I have no idea what is happening to me. All I know is that I want my mate back, which is the only thing that is keeping me sane.

Laying my head against the armchair, my mind drifted off to my memories with my mate. Her smiles, her soft lips moving as she spoke, her soft hands in my large ones.

I smiled at the memory of our first encounter when she was only fourteen. It was so ironic that I would encounter her when she was so young, and yet I couldn't do anything and wait for her to grow up.

Since I have already met her, I wanted to leave her a good impression so she would remember me even when she grew older.

Whenever she was angry and spiteful, it made her really cute in my eyes. And, the fact that she was jealous when she misunderstood Teagan as my girlfriend makes me so amused.

She is a beautiful girl in my eyes, even when she grew older. She grew into a beauty like her mother, making me really blessed to have her as my mate.

I can't thank the moon goddess enough for choosing her as my mate and letting us meet in my life. I am so lucky when I think about it.

And, I hope she comes back to me soon. I miss her a lot..

"Alpha, we have traces of the Luna's scent in the mall. It seems like she has visited the mall a few days ago." A voice through the link disrupted my thoughts as my eyes lit up in hope.

"Which mall?" I replied back hastily, standing up as I began rushing out of my wrecked study room. I made a mental note to remind myself to get the Omegas to clean up my study room later.

Wheels hit the road as my black SUV pulled out of the driveway, heading in the direction of the mall which one of my scouts team leaders have informed me.

My heart pounded quickly as my eyes were focused on the road ahead, weaving past the cars expertly. Adrenaline pumped in my veins as I found myself getting closer to my destination.

Skidding to a stop, I hopped out of my car hastily and began to pick up the scent of my mate. It was still fresh which meant that she has been here quite recently.

I entered the mall and began to track her scent. It was faint, slowly fading but her strongest was coming from the parking area at the back. "Drive my car over to the parking area at the back." I stated in the link immediately, my wolf letting out a growl as we are one step closer to finding our mate.

This time, I am not going to let her slip out of my sight.

I walked out of the back door and found Mark, leader of Team A who had drove my car over upon my command. "Alpha." He bowed in respect, stepping out of the car as I hopped on it.

"Get the rest to tag behind my car." I commanded, my hands gripped onto the wheels as my wheels hit the roads once more, not bothering to look back if they were catching up.

It has been miles, the scent has led me continuously through the roads until it stopped. The scent grew more stronger as I entered the dimly lit forests.

Footsteps were crushing the leaves, signaling that my men were following behind while I sniffed in the air for her scent which was growing stronger and stronger, making my wolf and I restless.

It stopped in the middle of the forests just like previously where her scent disappeared on the same spot. "This is where she must have previously came before she was teleported into another place by that woman." I growled at the thought.

"Alpha, please give us the permission to camp here and guard the spot. We will report back if there's any news." Mark said, bowing his head as he waited for my permission.

"No, get the scouts team to stop what they are doing and return back to the pack. That woman is getting us in a wild-goose chase, there's no use strengthening the security around the area where they last appeared since she has a way to appear in another spot and disappear again."

"But Alpha, what will happen to the Luna if we stop guarding the area? They may appear in our sight if we continued." He replied, disagreeing with my decision. "Do not question my decision, Mark. My words are final." I growled back, knowing that it was useless if we continued.

He nodded in respect while I stared at the spot, anger consuming me.

I have a feeling that the woman will appear very soon. And, I will have to deal with her in order to get back my mate.
