Chapter Twenty-Seven

Arielle's POV

Entwining our hands together, we walked along the pavements under the starry night sky. A beautiful scenery after dinner was ideal for a date, especially when I have Tristan by my side.

Walking under the comfortable silence, I can't help but to feel my guts twisting as though something bad was happening. I wasn't really gifted with all these six senses, but I just had a feeling as if I was being watched.

My eyes wandered around my surroundings, feeling my hair standing up against my skin. I shuddered slightly, not out of cold but a pair of eyes watching me.

Rage, hatred was visible in those eyes as it shone through the dense forests. It looked so familiar like the one I have seen four years ago in the shopping mall.

"What's wrong, babe?" He asked, snapping me out of my reverie. I shook my head and smiled, "Nothing, of course."

Deciding to ignore this weird feeling I was having, I continued walking along with Tristan down the pavements. It seems like he was always my distraction.

"I'm returning back to my pack the day after, babe." He suddenly said, stopping in his tracks. I looked towards him with a raised brow, expecting this to happen.

Since I was his mate, I would have to move back with him to his pack. And, I would lose all of my connections with my birth pack.

As he was the Alpha, I would naturally become his Luna which I was certainly not looking forward to because I know nothing about becoming one.

What is in store for me has finally came. God, when my dad has offered to teach me, I should have learnt from him. I was totally not expecting this sh*t to happen to me.

"And your point?" I asked, releasing the biggest sigh ever. He looked at me with concern shining in his eyes. "I want you to move in with me. Are you not willing to?"

I sighed again, "I am just not ready to become a Luna, not when I am still studying in College."

"Don't worry, I won't pressure you into doing what you don't like. We can take things slowly, babe." He said, planting a kiss against my forehead.

I stifled a yawn, nodding at his words. "You're tired." He pointed out before widening his arms for me. Instantly, I shook my head and continued walking.

Suddenly, I felt arms carrying me up as I squealed in surprise. "What the f*ck, Tristan!" He merely chuckled as he continued to carry me in bridal style.

"I can't believe you." I deadpanned, wrapping my arms around his neck as I continued to glare at him. But my glare couldn't last long since I was really tired after a day at work.

"Admit it, you enjoy sleeping in my arms." His soothing voice rang in my ears while I smiled, slowly fluttering my eyes closed.

"God damn you." I mumbled before drifting off to sleep.

Oof.

I groaned, sitting on top of my suitcase to squeeze all of my clothes. What can I say? My clothes were just too much that I had to stuff all of them into my suitcase.

God damn it, that's why I hate to pack my luggage.

"Seems like someone is having trouble with packing." A low chuckle followed while I looked up to see my mate entering the room with a smirk.

I rolled my eyes, "You just have to come in at the wrong timing." I groaned out loud, continuing my futile efforts to lock the suitcase.

"Come on, let the man do this job." He said, rolling up his sleeves as he motioned me to step aside. When I did, the case immediately popped open. My suitcase looked like it was about to burst soon with all of these clothes.

He looked towards me with his jaws dropping immediately. "Don't look at me like that, I just happen to have a lot of clothes." I went on defensive mode as I looked away.

He barked out a laugh while my brows pulled together into a frown. "What's so funny?" I snorted as I crawled beside him, trying my best to muster a most convincing glare.

It failed terribly like always.

Instead, he got an upper hand by pulling me towards his laps as he snaked his arms around my waist slyly. I tried to move back, but was trapped by his arms.

Resting my palms against his chest, I steadied myself. "Are you going to let me go?" I wheezed out when he pulled me even closer towards his body.

God, what was he even trying to do?

He leaned in and locked my lips with his which caught me by surprise. As though following my instinct, I closed my eyes and responded to the kiss.

Moaning into his mouth, I tangled our tongues together and relished the taste of his rough lips against mine. Mhm, I loved the feeling of having his lips against mine.

His fingers travelled down my arms, sending electrifying tingles shooting down my skin. I loved every minute spent with him, even if it was simple smothering kisses or cuddles.

Perhaps even without the mate bond between us, I would have fallen in love with him like a real human. He was everything that I couldn't live without.

"What the f*ck is going on here?" My brother's voice echoed throughout the room, breaking us from the kiss. I groaned, slamming my forehead against his chest.

He merely chuckled, "We're doing what a couple normally does, Dimitri. Now, would you please excuse us? We still have unfinished business."

Instantly, I lifted my head with my eyes almost popping out of the sockets. "You're crazy." I said, hitting his arm while he barked out a laugh.

"Whatever, lovebirds." And the door was closed while he looked at me with a smirk, caressing my face tenderly with mischief twinkling in his eyes.

"Shall we continue from where we stopped?"
