Chapter Forty-Three

Arielle's POV

He took a daring step forward as he grabbed my arm. "You are coming with me, Luna."

"And, what makes you think I will follow you obediently like a good dog?" I taunted, trying to hold back the fire erupting within me. I could hurt him with just a touch of my flames.

But, I knew I couldn't bear to hurt any innocent soul.

Mischief danced around in his eyes as he continued to stare at me. "Oh, you will." With that said, he swung a punch in my guts, letting a small gasp escape from my lips.

Did he just punched me?

Before he could swing another punch, I dodged it and yanked my arm away from his grasp. I spun around quickly, about to run when I felt fingers tugging on my hair forcefully.

"Let me go!" I howled in pain, anger rising as I grew more annoyed as every seconds passed with his fingers tugging on my hair. I was trying to cool myself down at the moment, trying not to hurt him with my powers.

I swear a fireball from me could burn him down in seconds.

Despite my warning, he decided not to heed it which would eventually lead to his demise.

A low growl escaped from my lips, my eyes turning pitch black in anger. He yelled in pain as he let go, my body was on fire and anyone who laid a hand on me will be burned instantly.

"Why are you so hot?" His face scrunched up in pain as he held onto his burnt hands. I smirked, an evil glint flashing across my eyes as I decided not to go on easy on this guy who hurt me.

I did swore not to hurt any innocent being with my powers. However, this guy is a spy and intentionally tried to kidnap and hurt me. His pathetic life shouldn't even be spared.

Fire lit up from my palms as I touched his chest where his heart resided. He howled in pain, his body shaking vigorously as he crumbled from the excessive heat.

Energy rolled in waves through my body as the fire reached his heart where I finally heard a thin line. His heart had stopped beating and he dropped to the ground lifelessly.

I was pulled back to reality as I quickly let go of my hand.

What have I done? I have just ended his life with the fire..

My eyes snapped back down to my hand in horror, the fire sparks slowly going off as the wind blew in my direction. My wavy hair flowed in the opposite direction as I sighed, tucking strands of hair behind my ears.

"Arielle! What the hell were you thinking when you exercised your powers on that poor guy?" Her shrill voice snapped me out of my senses as I looked up to see her storming towards me angrily.

She caught up to me and stood in front of me with a frown. "I honestly don't know what just happened. All I know that he is a spy, he tried to kidnap me and hurt me. So, I did what I had to and killed him with my powers.." I trailed off, not knowing where that sudden instincts came from which made me end an innocent life.

Tears rolled down her cheeks at my words, "You almost lost yourself, Arielle. Just like how you did in your previous life."

"I did?" I gasped in shock, still unable to accept the fact that I had just killed someone in a blink of an eye.

Suddenly, the earth shook loudly as wolves surrounded the area. A certain black wolf caught my eyes as he stood out from the pack of wolves.

"Our mate.." Nat sighed dreamily.

My eyes widened instantly when I recognised him as my mate. Golden eyes belonging to his wolf flickered between me to Fiona and finally to the dead body lying in front of us.

He shifted back to his human form and tugged onto a pair of shorts while the rest of the wolves did the same.

"Didn't know the guys in your world are unashamed when it comes to nudity." Fiona whispered from beside me, her lips parting at the sight.

I nodded numbly, my eyes focused on my mate who was still watching me. He approached me and hugged me tightly, wrapping his arms around me as he buried his head in the crook of my neck.

I responded by wrapping my arms around his waist as I basked in the scent of my mate. After going through so much ordeal, I realised I miss him so much.

He pulled away after a while, his eyes gazing down at me. His eyebags were visible as though he hasn't been sleeping well, stubbles growing as though he hasn't been taking care of himself properly. His cheekbones were sunken as he lost a lot of weight during the period I was gone.

I smiled sadly, knowing it was all my fault as I held onto his face. "I'm sorry for putting you through this." I whispered, leaning in as I pecked his lips.

He smiled against the kiss, leaning in for another one.

"We have a lot of things to iron out, babe." A low grunt escaped from his lips while I chuckled, nodding my head as I know I have a lot of explanations to do regarding about my recent disappearance ever since I left him.

"Let's go back home. Your parents are worried about you and anxiously waiting for you at home." I nodded at his words, sliding my hand into his warm ones.

"Let me go!" Fiona's voice rang in my ears as I turned around instantly to find herself trapped in a man's arms.

Isn't that Lance?
