Chapter Eighteen
Arielle's POV
The fifth dress was thrown in my direction while I set it down beside me like a discarded item. I was really in no mood to get a new dress just for some Alpha's celebration.
And worst of all, the celebration was meant for the last person who I wanted to see on Earth, Tristan Warden. It was required for us to observe the former Alpha handing the pack over to him. It would be the same for my older brother who was going to take over the pack soon.
I sighed for the umpteen times, rubbing the nape of my neck in discomfort as I shuddered slightly at the thought. I had successfully avoided him for the past few days ever since we got into a fight.
Not that I was being a b*tch, but he was being too protective over me when he was not even my freaking mate. How would his future mate even react when she finds out?
A hand waved multiple times in front of me as I looked up to be met with the annoying duos' concerned face. They were the ones who dragged me to the mall, said was to buy a new dress for the celebration and have fun. When in actual, they were trying to get me to open up to them since the past few days.
They must have figured out that something was wrong with me.
"What?" I rubbed my face in irritation, pretty much annoyed that they have been trying to snoop into my business. I don't need anyone to know that me and Tristan's friendship has went downhill.
Tracy sighed, sitting down beside me with an arm hung across my shoulders. "Come on, Arielle bear. Stop zoning out. We have to get a dress for you for the celebration in just a few days' away." She said in exasperation, looking towards her older sister for help.
"Oh right," I paused, looking up as my eyes scanned the racks briefly before catching sight of one. I stood up, walking towards one of the racks situated at the back of the store before heading into one of the unoccupied changing stalls.
I retrieved the material clung onto the wooden hanger and let the ruffles at the end dropped to my knees. I scanned myself in the full-length mirror, my hands smoothening down the ends of the dress gently.
I nodded in satisfaction at the dress I had chosen and removed it over my head. Walking out of the changing stall, I looked towards the duo who had grins plastered on their faces.
I threw the blue ruffled dress in their direction and waited for them as they queued in line to check out. My eyes mindlessly scanned around the mall until I was met with a pair of eyes which was glaring at me.
The eyes belonging to the owner was wearing a hoodie, covering his face perfectly. I closed my eyes and opened them again to see the spot he was standing a while ago which was empty right now.
I blinked furiously, trying to gather my thoughts of my latest encounter when a snap of fingers pulled me back to reality. I looked up to see the duo staring at me with raised brows.
"What's wrong, Arielle bear?" Teagan asked, pushing a pink shopping bag towards me. I shrugged, shaking my head slightly.
"Nothing's wrong. Let's head for lunch."

Three days flew by quickly and I was standing behind Teagan, helping her to curl her hair into the latest up-do. She did the makeup herself since she was capable of doing it.
While on the other hand, her little sister was struggling to pin her blonde bangs to the back. After I was done with Teagan's hair, I moved towards Tracy and helped her.
She turned towards me and smiled before her face tilted downwards into a frown. "Is there something bothering you, Arielle bear?"
I shrugged in response, dismissing her attempts to pry into my business and sat down on Teagan's bed as I pulled my hair to the back in a simple ponytail.
I felt hands grasped onto mine tightly as I looked up to see Tracy smiling down at me. "Since you don't want to say, I won't force you to," She paused, making me sigh in relief. It seems like only Tracy knows me the best.
"Come on, Arielle bear. We should go down soon." She smiled at me, pulling me along with her. I nodded, feeling my shoulders sagged slightly as we waited for Teagan to finish her makeup.
We walked down together, the duo grinning widely while I was trying my best not to let Tristan get the best of me. I needed to control my emotions.
My hands sweated profusely at every step I took to reach the porch where the memories came flooding back to my mind; when Tristan came to me to comfort me or the other time when we had to sort out the misunderstanding between us.
I shook away the thoughts and clamped my fingers against my dress to hold in my emotions which were going to burst out anytime soon.
I followed my gaze to where my parents were and broke away from the duo who were busy whispering between themselves. It was kind of funny how they had grown so close within a span of almost three weeks.
My mom's face lit up upon seeing me and waved me over as her hand was entwined with dad's. How sweet.
"Where have you been? You have been disappearing often lately." She asked in concern while I merely shrugged my shoulders and forced a sweet smile.
"Been busy with Teagan and Tracy." Was all I said before heading towards the long stretch of table where a buffet was spread out for the pack members.
My eyes met a pair of familiar ones, silently gasping at the breathtaking sight in front of me.
Lo and behold, Tristan was wearing a white button up shirt and denim jeans. His sleeves were rolled up to his elbow as he stepped out of the porch with cleanly shaven stubbles and brown hair combed neatly to the back.
He was the exact replica of the Greek god.
Oh god. Even without using a mirror, I must be drooling right now.
