Chapter Twenty-Four

Arielle's POV

With entwined fingers, we walked out of the front door and reached the porch. I pulled him to the bench where I used to occupy for simple reasons such as; clearing my thoughts, do some self-reflecting or coming up with pranks to pull on my brother a few years back.

But that childish side of myself was gone, replaced by a more matured and grown up me. I had missed those sides of myself which I had lost when I was younger.

"Still remember that we would meet each other in the porch whether it was a good or bad thing?" His words snapped me out of my reverie as I nodded, sighing in bliss.

Those times were the best of my life where I could actually see him, talk to him, hug him.

"I can still remember that you were a very cheeky yet, adventurous child four years ago." He said, chuckling at the memory as he shifted his eyes to mine and pecked my lips.

Raising a brow at his words, I denied his answer. "You've got it all wrong, Tristan. I was a good child back then." I retorted, sticking out my tongue to tease him.

He laughed out loud, his laughter coming out as vibration as he watched me with a hint of amusement. "Good child? I doubt so." He said, giving me another peck on my lips.

"Hey, I'm a good child. Even until today." I snapped, poking his chest in a joking gesture. He chuckled, shaking his head slowly.

"It's fine that you like to shoot me with your witty remarks, but keep in mind that I will always love you, babe." He whispered, planting kisses on my forehead, my nose and my lips.

I blinked furiously, watching as his affection for me continued. Bliss was what I was feeling right now. I couldn't have wanted more, just him in my life was all good.

Meeting his eyes, I smiled and snuggled deeper into his arms, feeling a sense of security which slowly lulled me to sleep, making me think how lucky I was to meet someone like him.

And, I could call him mine.

Waking up, I squinted my eyes open. The first thing I saw wasn't my ceiling but a hard chest which was apparently bare until his bottom where he only wore a pair of boxers.

Lifting my head, I noticed that he was sound asleep which gave me the chance to examine his god-like figure to my heart's content.

At least, he wouldn't know that I was checking him out shamelessly.

"Like what you see?" A raspy voice rang in my ears as I groaned aloud, snapping my head up towards him. His eyes was staring back at mine as he smirked.

I gulped, leaning deeper into my soft pillow as I covered my mouth. "Not going to say." I said, sticking out my tongue before his lips made contact with mine.

He chuckled deeply at my shocked reaction the moment he pulled away, running his fingers down my face. "I love you, Arielle."

Blush crept up to my cheeks as I tucked wisps of hair behind my ears. "Do I have to say it back?" I asked, covering my face with my hands as I peeped through the crack of the holes.

In a swift move, he pulled my hands away from my face and frowned at me. Bringing his fingers to my cheeks, he pinched it gently. "Didn't I tell you not to cower in front of me? Have you forgotten, Arielle?"

I groaned, feeling a burning sensation on my cheeks with his rough fingers pinching it. "Okay, okay. But I am just... too shy to say it." I said, pulling his fingers away from my cheeks as I scrunched my nose.

He tapped my nose gently and leaned in as he kissed each side of my cheeks. "Alright, babe. I will wait for you until you are ready to say." He promised, skimming the edge of my face with his thumb.

I nodded, my fingers playing with his stubbles. "Shall we head down for breakfast?"

xxxx

We headed down for breakfast, hand-in-hand as we kept showering each other with non-stop affections. His kisses on my lips always seemed to lift up my mood.

Was it the mate bond?

"Oh, someone seems to be in love." Teagan and Tracy simultaneously said as they grinned widely at our conjoined hands. I tried to pull away but his grip on my hand tightened incredibly.

"What are you doing?" I whispered, glaring at him. He merely chuckled, bringing his lips to my ear. "Let them gossip all they want. I want the whole pack to know that you are mine."

At his words, I punched his chest and glared at him. "You are crazy." I retorted, scrunching my nose in embarrassment as I walked past him and took my seat beside my mom.

Her fingers raked across my brown waves as she smiled at me warmly. "I see my daughter has finally acknowledged her mate. I am so happy for you, honey."

"Wait, you knew about this?" I uttered in disbelief, pointing a finger at all of them with suspicion. All of them simultaneously nodded at my words while I leaned back against my seat in defeat.

Running my hand down my face, I covered my face in embarrassment and sighed. "I can't believe that all of you ganged up against me." I huffed, groaning loud enough for them to hear.

I was pulled into a pair of warm arms as he silently chuckled, his voice was simply enough to calm me down. "Don't worry, they won't do it again now that you are with me."

Snapping my head up towards him, I looked at him with a raised brow and a look of suspicion. He merely laughed at my expression, gently kissing my forehead which earned a lot of 'ew' from our 'audiences'.

My lips tilted up into a smile as I stared at him, the love of my life.
