Chapter Two

Arielle's POV

I sat beside my mom as she took out t-shirts and cotton shorts from my cupboard. Folding them neatly, she stacked them into a duffle bag before she grabbed a handful of underwear and bras which could last me for two weeks or more.

She even insisted on bringing the ugly thing trapped between my vagina and my underwear. Oh my goddess, it was hard being a woman.

Before she could even pull up the zip of the duffle bag, I grabbed my secret weapon from underneath the cupboard and handed it to her.

"I am bringing this for protection, mom. I have the extra bullets ready with me." I said, grinning as she shook her head in disbelief. "Alright, I am allowing you to bring your beloved Nerf gun to the pack, but no fooling around." She reminded.

I nodded my head several times as I watched her pull up the zip of the duffle bag. Complete. We were good to go.

I followed after her as she carried her suitcase and my duffle bag to our car. Dad who was starting the engine, immediately helped mom carried the items as soon as he saw her.

He even pecked on her forehead when she handed him the items. I pretended to let out a gag, making noises loud enough for them to hear.

They turned around and shook their head in disbelief. Mom walked towards me and shooed me to the car as she headed back to the house to make one final check.

She always does that to ensure that everything was perfect. A perfectionist, huh?

I slipped myself to the back seat as I strapped my seat belt. Mom followed after and we were all good to go. I plugged in my earphones and began listening to 'Red' by Taylor Swift as the car started driving.

I crossed my legs in an unladylike manner and tapped my fingers against the car door as I followed the beat. Tapping, tapping, I felt myself drifting off to sleep upon the rain droplets sliding down the cooling glass surface.

I guess I had slept like a log throughout the journey that I wasn't even aware that I was being carried. It wasn't until when I felt the warmth hitting me did I force my eyes awake as I glanced at the ceiling above me.

Clear vision slowly restored as I glanced around the room.

This wasn't my room. The things in here were unfamiliar except for my duffle bag seated across from me on a table. It then struck me that I must be in the neighbouring pack.

I stifled a yawn as I dragged my feet to the wall where the air-conditioner remote was. Cussing my height, I climbed onto a chair and hit the button of the air-conditioner, switching it on.

Climbing back down, I toppled my weight against the clean sheets, not bothering to take a shower. My eyelids were about to flutter close when I felt my stomach growling in hunger.

Sighing, I made my way out of my room as I climbed down the stairs where I reached a kitchenette. The back of a girl facing me was munching away secretly as though she didn't want anybody to find out.

"Excuse me?" I asked, hoping she could be kind enough to give me some food. When she turned around, a cookie was clenched in between her teeth as cookie crumbs filled her cheeks.

I frowned upon recognising her. High school nemesis, Teagan Warden.

"What are you doing here?" Both of us simultaneously asked. I huffed and folded my arms. She continued munching on her cookies as she leant against the counter.

"I am the Alpha's daughter of this pack. What are you, Alpha's daughter of another pack, doing here?"

"I am here for a vacation. My mom and dad brought me here." I simply stated.

"Well, make yourself at home then. See you later, Arielle Bradford."

"Hey, where are you going?"

"Haven't you heard? The Alpha-to-be is coming back from Alpha's training tonight." She mocked, wiping away the cookie crumbs stuck on her mouth with the back of her hand.

"By the way, your face still have somemore cookie crumbs." I stated, trying to tease her. Her eyes widened as she wiped away the non-existent crumbs stuck on her mouth.

"Anymore?"

"Yeah, there's somemore on your left cheek, right cheek and your nose." Upon my words, she glared at me. She must have figured out that I was kidding her.

"Arielle Bradford, you will get it from me the next time." She hissed, stomping away like a giant with big feet. The way she hissed reminded me of a dragon trying to burn down a castle. How unladylike she would be.

Yikes, I wouldn't want her to burn me down. I shivered at the thought.

My stomach growled again as I sighed. Dragging a chair towards a cupboard, I climbed up to find a packet of seaweed chips. I was lucky enough to find my favorite flavor of chips.

Sitting back down on the chair, I began munching away as I lost track of the time. By the time I was full, I had realised that I had eaten the whole packet.

God dammit, I have to get rid of evidence.

I hurriedly rushed to the bin and threw it away as I rushed up to the washroom to clean up. I can't let anyone or even Teagan have the chance to find out that I had eaten a whole packet of seaweed chips.

Mom would ground me for a whole week if she finds out.

I quickly locked myself in an available washroom as I turned on the tap. Slowly, I cleaned off every bits of crumbs from the chips, washing them away thoroughly.

'Honey, where are you?' My mom mind-linked. I gulped. If I cooked up some sort of excuse, her hawk eyes wouldn't stand a chance to spot any crumbs from my face. I would be able to get away unscathed then.

'Sorry, mommy. I don't feel very well because of the p-period. Can I be excused for the night instead?'

'Alright then, I understand. I will just explain to the Alpha that you won't be able to make it tonight. Rest well, honey.' And with that, the mind-link was cut off.

Wow, I didn't know that period was such a great excuse. Maybe, I could use it as an excuse if I ever land myself into deep trouble again. Perfect. I grinned to myself.
