Chapter Fifty
Arielle's POV
Memories of the past rushed back to my head the moment he showed his face. The feeling of betrayal and hurt and anguish all came back to me as he flashed a sinister smile.
How could this be happening to me? Why is karma hitting me again? Haven't he done enough damage to my life? He is the one who turned me into a monster, even when I reincarnated.
The powers I had possessed in my previous life had been kept with me until today and there was no way to get rid of it until I passed the test.
Seeing as he is standing in front of us right now with his hair slicked to the back in a modern style, I can't help but to feel enraged that he is back again.
However, he is twice as powerful than before now.
What happened to him clearing his sins as a poor man? Why is he standing here as if nothing has happened to him and attacking us instead?
All the thoughts made me feel even more frustrated and furious that things have turned out this way. It was all because of him that I have turned into a monster. I slammed my hands down on the earth as the drive to kill him rushed through my veins.
I closed my eyes and screamed, my heart burning as something clawed at my throat. Tears which threatened to spill rolled down my cheeks, leaving a trail of flame behind.
A gasp snapped me out of my senses as I looked up to see flames circling around me. Yet, I couldn't feel any pain when the flames got near me.
All I could feel was anger and the desires to murder him.
I took a step forward when an invisible shield surrounded me and my flames. Fiona appeared on the wall of the shield as she snapped her fingers.
"What do you think you are doing, girl? Calm down!" She tried to talk to me through the wall of shield, her voice slowly clearing my senses.
"Deep breaths, Arielle. In, out. In, out.." I heeded her advice and took in deep breaths, slowly letting the flames extinguish as I collapsed onto the floor.
I have almost made the same mistake which I have did in my past life. His face reminded me of my sorrows and hurt. All I could think was killing him to make myself feel better.
But, in the end, was it worth it? No, it costed me a chance to live life normally with Tristan, not until I passed the test.
A tear rolled down my cheek, this time it did not leave a trail of flame behind. It was my feelings wrapped up in this tear which have made me decide to forgive and forget.
I am done trying to kill him, I just want to start afresh with Tristan and embrace the memories with him. All I want now is nothing, but Tristan.
"Weak and pathetic." He spat, slowly approaching me as I laid sprawled on the ground in a mess. I rolled my eyes, leaving a shield of flame before me as his footsteps ceased to a stop.
I looked up, wiping away the tears about to spill. Slowly picking myself up, I dusted away the ashes on my jeans as I looked towards Fiona who had wrapped her hands around my arms as she assisted me to stand up.
I smiled weakly at her, slowly using the technique she has taught me to heal myself from the painful memories. I would be fine in a minute or so.
"Are you alright, Arielle?" She asked while I responded with a small nod. My eyes diverted itself to him as I stared at the man whom I have once loved in the past.
He was the past, Tristan is my future. Why should I let the past get the best of me and block me from building a happy future with my mate?
I laughed, shaking my head as I felt so dumb. He is nothing but a parasite to me.
"Why are you laughing?" He demanded, attempting to cross the wall of flames but was burnt. He gasped, quickly blowing to stop the flames but it only worsened as wind feeds the fire instead of extinguishing it.
Only water could do that. And he is nowhere near saving himself as the land he had chosen to lure us out had absolutely no water sources at all. He deserved it.
His clothes were burning as he yelped in pain, falling to the ground as he gasped for help. I noticed the burn creeping up to his skin as they turned charred. "Beyonce, please save me! Please get the flames out, it's hurting me!"
His pleas for me to save him made me roll my eyes as this time, he was the weak and pathetic one. Couldn't even save himself from a mere fire.
"I am no longer Beyonce, 7th Prince. It's Arielle to you."
"Arielle! Please, save me." He croaked out, his cries ringing in my ears as it sounded surprisingly satisfying.
"Not until you tell me what is your purpose of coming here." I growled, my wolf suddenly awaken as she could sense something was wrong.
He cried in pain, the flames slowing eating him up, "Dion, his army is probably here, attacking your pack right now while I help him distract both of you."
"What?" I shouted in alarm, shocked that Dion had plotted against us and used him to distract us.
What a low move, Dion.
"Can't we kill him, Fiona?" I asked, sounding frustrated that this piece of jerk was here in the first place when he should be living his life as a poor man.
I looked towards Fiona who chuckled, "He can't die yet, not in your flames which burnt him alive in his previous life. He needs to be alive, at least for now before we kill him. Anyone, but you."
Grunting in annoyance, I nodded, signalling to her as she wielded her hands in the air, allowing the portal to open above him. In a rush, water flowed out from the portal as it drenched him completely, extinguishing the flames in a second.
Smoke flooded the place as I turned towards Fiona who had her hand covering her nose. "Damn, it smells horrible." She commented, making a disgusted face while I laughed out loud.
"Good to have you back, my friend." She laughed, pulling me into a hug as she ruffled my hair. "Fiona! My hair!" She giggled, quickly pulling away as I groaned.
My eyes laid on the slightly charred body as I looked towards Fiona. "What do we do with him now?"
She had a sparkle in her eyes when I popped the question. "Create a rope of flames that bind him together and I will settle his place to stay at the moment."
I nodded, going along with her instructions as I did what she asked me to do, leaving him bounded to the rope of flames which left him in pain once again.
By now, he has already been knocked out. She opened a portal and lifted him into it and we watched it close completely.
"Where is he now?" I asked curiously, raising my brow. "Somewhere you wouldn't want to go." She chuckled, her face turning back to serious.
"About the army he mentioned, what's going to happen to the pack... and Lance?" She asked, mentioning her mate's name a little softer than usual. I laughed out loud as her face turned into a shade of red.
"I will tease you after that, but It looks like we have an army to wipe out."
