Chapter Fifteen
Arielle's POV
"Arielle." He repeated my name again, making me feel annoyed. I threw my hands in the air in exasperation and glared at him.
"What do you want, big guy?" I said, rolling my eyes.
"Why are you acting like this, sugar?" He blurted out, taking a step towards me. Hurt and disappointment flashed across his eyes as I moved backwards.
I blinked furiously, trying to think of words to say. But I can't seem to spit it out. Flustered, I scanned around the washroom and wetted my lips.
"Because you are in the ladies washroom and you shouldn't be here, you pervert." I rushed out my words and pushed him away from me.
"Arielle-" I cut him off by glaring at him as I continued to push him until he was out of the washroom. I slammed the door at his face and leaned against the door, feeling my cheeks heat up.
I can't believe I had actually come up with such a lousy excuse. Of all people, it had to be Tristan. What was wrong with me?
No, no. I had to clear my mind. He has his own mate and I can't break them apart.
xxxx
I had been silent throughout the whole day as I stared at the polished floor blankly. I was literally in a screen-saver mode, paying no attention to anyone or whatsoever.
And whose fault was that? The big bad Tristan who kept confusing my feelings.
A rainbow fly flew in front of my face several times as I admired the color of the fly. Then it hit me that flies doesn't have colors. They were simply in a dull, black color.
Then what the hell was that?
I blinked again and looked up with my lips parted as I stared at a puzzled Teagan. She clamped her hands against my shoulders and repeatedly shook me.
I was snapped out of my reverie as I glared at her, swatting her hands away in frustration. "What the hell was that, Teagan Warden?" I groaned, feeling my nose flaring with anger.
Her lips simply curved into a smirk as she looked at me. "Now this is the Arielle I know." She said with a snap of her fingers. "What the hell?" I responded unpleasantly.
I was in no mood for her lame jokes.
"Oh come on, Arielle. Stop being such a pussy and tell us what is wrong with you? You have been zoning out for the entire day." She said in exasperation, throwing her hands in the air while I merely scoffed in reply.
I felt a gentle tug on my arm to see Tracy looking at me with her biggest puppy eyes. "Come on, Arielle bear. Just tell us." She prompted, her lips turning into a cute pout.
"Sorry buddy, but your puppy eyes and cute pout doesn't work on me. And seriously, I am perfectly fine." I sighed, not in the mood for heart-to-heart talks right now. I couldn't bring myself to tell them.
It would be damn embarrassing.
"Liar." The duo replied in unison as they returned the hi-fives together. I mentally face-palmed as I shook my head in disbelief.
I turned around to leave, only to spot Tristan with his group of friends hovering around the exit. Oh no. Now was not the best time to leave.
He might pull me out and try to talk to me again. This would make the duo get even more suspicious. Like seriously, they wouldn't mind poking into my business to see what secrets I was hiding.
But I was not going to let them have a chance to discover them. Not ever.
I let my eyes scanned around the mall and spotted a theatre on the highest level. Watching a movie now would be a great distraction and hopefully, that would divert their attention from me.
