After having sent all the girls off the man had called down all the boys, mocking them about how he was going to let them go out to find the girls they had chosen to help them out.
The whole time Jungwon had chewed on the inner side of his cheek, watching as the man had sent Sunoo off to go find his girl. The man had stayed silent for a long time after having sent Sunoo off, watching the hallway he had walked down in silence.
"Now... if I remember it all right... I do believe the brat was after the scaredy cat," the man stated as he turned to the boys. Each and everyone was glaring at him, "and she was so unmannered to refuse to tell me who was with her. So... who will take responsibility for her terrible attitude?"
"She is not a brat," Jungwon hissed at the man, who just looked at Jungwon in amusement.
"Is that so? Does it make sense for her to be with you? A little brat to a boy who believes he can get out of everything with his smart remarks," the man stated as Jungwon glanced towards the staircase Jiyeon had disappeared up along.
"She is not a brat," Jungwon shook his head once more. For what reason he insisted on cleaning Jiyeon's reputation, he did not know. He just knew he was not gonna let anyone go around and call her a brat, not on his watch. It was only himself that could call her that.
"I do believe that she is," the man casually shrugged at him, "so... what makes you think she is not?" the man squinted his eyes at Jungwon, as he laid both his hands back on his cane.
"She's one of the most caring and happiest people I know," Jungwon calmly said, "she's only mean towards anyone who wants her the worst. She could sense you hoped for something bad to happen to her."
"And I think my hopes are realized," the man stated with a smirk on his face, "it's been quite silent from that part of the second floor, don't you think?"
"Jiyeon is able to fend for herself," Jungwon insisted.
In fact Jungwon was sure that she was under the impression that this was either some weird prank, or that it was actually reality. Whatever she thought it was, she was most likely sitting in a hallway, patiently waiting for her chance to scare him back. For how much he had scared her with this.
"I think you should go check for yourself," the man smirked and nodded to the hallway that was at the top of the stairs, which Jiyeon had climbed when she got sent off.
Jungwon didn't even hesitate to run up the stairs and immediately shift into his bat-form, quickly flying down the hallway in front of him. Everytime he flew past a side hallway he would look down it, in search of anything that would give him a hint of where Jiyeon was.
"Boo," a voice spoke from right beside him, making him lose his direction and immediately fly into the wall as he changed back into human-form, "sorry," Jiyeon let out a small laugh as Jungwon rubbed his forehead and looked up at her.
Jiyeon had hid in one of the side hallways and waited for him to go look for her. When she had heard the flapping of the batwings nearing, she had immediately decided to get back at Jungwon for scaring the shit out of her.
Now that Jungwon sat on the floor and rubbed his forehead she knew she had succeeded. But she had not expected for him to get up so quickly and cover her mouth as he pressed her up against the wall behind her. Her eyes had immediately widened.
"Are you completely out of your mind?" Jungwon hissed, making Jiyeon's eyes just immediately tell him how confused she was, "what if it had been one of the elders looking for any of you girls?"
"Any of the wh-" Jiyeon started making Jungwon sigh and she immediately stopped talking.
"You didn't actually listen to what you were told... were you?" he sighed at her making her hesitantly shake her head, "Ji, you were supposed to listen to him."
"I was too busy flirting with the little bat," Jiyeon casually shrugged before carefully removing Jungwon's hand from her mouth and just smiling at him, making his frustration immediately disappear, "Sorry."
"Look, we have to be careful. There's elders, old vampires, wandering around the castle. They do not want you, living people, here to help us reverse the curse. I'm serious... Ji, they will kill you if they get you," Jungwon sternly spoke, making Jiyeon's playful demeanor immediately fade as she just looked at him before looking back down the hallway they both had come from.
"Okay," she quietly spoke before looking back up at him with a small nod, "what do I have to do?"
"Woah, woah... hey... that didn't mean for you to stop smiling," Jungwon started with a frown on his face and poked up the corners of her mouth, "it was just a warning, not meant to scare you."
"Just tell me whatever it is I have to do to get you back into a normal person again," Jiyeon waved it off, "I want to go home."
"I know..." Jungwon nodded at her, "I know," he repeated and pulled her into a hug, "but I don't know how to do it... there's many ways to do a reversal, and I don't know just one. He said... he said we would be able to find hints and descriptions of a reversal, throughout the castle," Jungwon admitted making Jiyeon just push him away and nod at him, "hey... you good?"
"I just want to go home," Jiyeon admitted and grabbed onto her elbows before looking back down the hallway she had come from, "I'm tired and I'm hungry, and I'm cold."
"Cold?" Jungwon frowned at her and she just nodded.
"I waited on the same bench for two hours," she admitted and looked back to him.
Jungwon didn't even hesitate before pulling off his jacket and forcing Jiyeon to take it on, a small smile slowly spreading on her lips.
"Look... I promise that we'll get out of here quickly, and once we do... I'm walking you home and I'll stay the night," Jungwon assured her softly and she just nodded, "and I promise to be the one paying for ice cream for the rest of the year."
"Ice cream does sound good right now," Jiyeon muttered, making Jungwon let out a small laugh at her.
"Right... now... how about we begin looking for the secret to make me normal again?" Jungwon questioned and Jiyeon just nodded as he grabbed her hand in his and tugged her along with him down a whole new hallway.
