It was some sort of broom closet, I had been shoved into, just like the one we spent the night in. It was completely dark in the room, except from a small ray of light emitting from the keyhole in the door and around the edge of it.
I carefully moved down so I could look through the keyhole as I watched Jungwon's back slowly move away from the door, letting me get a clear look of who had arrived.
"What?" Jungwon questioned as the person stepped through the door.
My breath hitched in my throat at the sight, it was the same man that had "greeted" us when we had entered the castle. The same man that had sent me up to the second floor. He looked around with a smug smile on his face before looking back at Jungwon and quirking his eyebrows in a quick movement, barely noticeable.
"You're alone," the man commented and Jungwon just nodded, "she's gone."
"I can't find her," Jungwon stated and tapped his fingers on the table in front of him, quickly running a hand through his hair as well.
"You know how big this castle is... someone could be lurking around every corner," the man recalled looking around the room, making Jungwon just nod, "one second and she could be dead. Just... like... that," the man snapped his fingers making Jungwon immediately purse his lips, "you don't want that, now do you?"
"Of course I don't want that," Jungwon hissed at him.
"Then I suppose you should search every room and hallway carefully... before you go there," the man started making me snap my head to look over my shoulder as I heard a sound behind me, "someone is always lurking in the shadows."
"Always?" Jungwon questioned as he glanced at the door, the man following his eyes to the door as well.
"Yes... always... even behind that door... neither of you are ever completely alone... someone is always watching, waiting for you to split up or the perfect time to attack... maybe when you're exhausted or least expect it," the man added on as my heart beat slowly picked up and began beating harder in my chest, "should we check if someone is watching you in this very moment? Behind that door?"
"No!" Jungwon answered, a bit too fast, making the man look at him in amusement, and I mentally began cursing out Jungwon, "I don't... I don't want to know who is watching me."
"You don't?" the man questioned in amusement and Jungwon immediately shook his head, desperately trying to save his small mistake.
"Can you leave now? You're wasting my time," Jungwon stated with an impatient look on his face as he kept glancing around the room, his eyes staying on the door, I was hiding behind, for a few more seconds than any other place, "I need to get to her fast as possible, and you're wasting my time."
The man looked at Jungwon before sighing and rolling his eyes before bringing his cane out from under his cape, and just impatiently staring at Jungwon. The man stood in silence, resting his hand on top of the other that held the cane. Eventually he did sigh, looking like he was tired of the games he was playing with all of us.
"I know she's behind that door," the man calmly stated, "didn't you hear me when I said someone was always watching you?"
I slowly backed away from the door, scared of what was gonna happen now. The door was in no way soundproof, so I would still be able to hear anyone on the other side of it and they would be able to hear me. I had to be completely quiet no matter what.
"I haven't seen her before last night," Jungwon's voice calmly said.
"You walked down the hallway together last night, hid in a broom closet and spent the night there... she was hungry so you went here, and you refused to let her eat anything... and now she's on the other side on that door... and lets just say she isn't alone," the man's voice spoke up and I felt myself freeze completely, "not a smart move to let her out of your sight... you see?"
It stayed silent on the other side of the door before I could hear fast footsteps near the door whilst my hands just curled up into small fists, preparing myself to go into defense mode in case I really wasn't alone in here. Right now I could only beg it was some small baby vampire that couldn't do anything but cling onto my leg, but in a way I knew it wasn't so.
"Ah, ah, ah," the man's voice spoke up and the footsteps came to a halt on the other side, "you made a mistake and from that you will learn. If you want to protect her you should not leave her alone."
"Don't touch her," Jungwon's voice was stern and closer to the door than it had been before.
"Oh... I won't," the man stated as I felt a presence stand right behind me and I tensed up once again. There was no doubt it was a much taller and stronger presence than I was.
I let out a shaky breath before lunging for the door in front of me, immediately getting pulled back the moment I had grabbed onto the handle. The door handle made a clicking sound as it closed the door once again. I was pulled back by a hand wrapping around my throat, and I was pulled straight back against someone else's body.
"I didn't touch her," the man spoke from the other side as I was breathing heavily and struggling to get out of the grip someone held on me. They were unnaturally strong, or I was unnaturally weak.
"Let her go," Jungwon sternly spoke, his voice was much deeper and more serious than I had ever heard it be.
"That's not how things work," the man let out a small laugh, "now... do you want her dead... or like you?"
"I want you to let her go," Jungwon harshly repeated, making the man click his tongue as I closed my eyes tightly and tried to pry the hand off my throat, "she did nothing wrong."
"That's not how things work around here, I don't care if she did anything wrong or not," the man calmly spoke, "you knew the dangers you would put her into if you picked her, and now your cowardly actions will have you pay. Unless... Little miss bratty can fight her own way out, which I highly doubt. Her words can't do anything for her."
As I felt two sharp things get placed against my neck I quickly kicked backwards, hitting at least something that made the two sharp things disappear from my neck. I quickly kicked out and managed to kick the door handle down and open the door all at once.
"Huh... would you look at that... she can open a door without hands," the man commented as he looked at me with raised eyebrows. He looked impressed but in an unimpressed way.
"Ji..." Jungwon muttered as I still struggled with the hand that was wrapped around my throat that slowly tightened its grip.
All I could do was try and struggle my way out of the grip at the same time Jungwon just stood and looked on in horror.
