"Mhm," I hummed in reply to Jungwon.
I was about to nuzzle my head further into his shoulder when I caught a shadow out of the corner of my eye. I immediately straightened up as I widened my eyes in search of the mysterious shadow I had seen just moments before.
"What?" Jungwon let out a small laugh as the shadow finally moved into my view and neared us in a fast manner.
"Run," I muttered in horror as the shadow just rapidly neared us.
"What?" Jungwon questioned in confusion, making me immediately look him straight in the eye with a stern look.
"I said run," I immediately insisted before looking back over his shoulder, "now Jungwon!" I yelled as the shadow was only two meters from us.
Realizing Jungwon still wasn't moving I immediately let my feet drop to the floor, and grabbed onto Jungwon's hand before dragging him with me down the hallway in a run.
"Ji what are yo- holy shit," Jungwon yelled from behind me before I felt his grip around my hand tighten and soon saw him run further in front of me, forcing me to try and run faster.
My legs were heavy as ever, and I felt like constantly fainting as my lungs burned in desire for oxygen. I was exhausted both mentally and physically and running this fast at this very moment didn't make it better for me in any way.
My head slumped down as I felt like a ragdoll trying to keep up with Jungwon's fast steps. I could suddenly feel how he was much more athletic than me, maybe I shouldn't have dropped off the track team back in elementary.
I soon felt a hand push harshly on my back and let me tumble forward as Jungwon's hand slipped from mine.
The sound of a door slamming and locking behind me made me bend forward with my hands on my knees as I was breathing heavily.
"It's burning... Why is it burning?" I panted before crouching down on the ground.
"Ji... take off my jacket and the white shirt," Jungwon spoke up.
"What?" I questioned as I was still trying to catch my bread.
"I said... take off my jacket and the white shirt," Jungwon repeated, making me just shake my head.
Jungwon's jacket and my own white shirt was pulled off me by such a force that I fell back on my butt, making a burning sensation run through my shoulder. I abruptly stood up and turned to Jungwon.
"Yah!" I exclaimed at him, "what the hell do you think you are doing? I said no!"
"Ji you-" Jungwon started as he just was staring at his hand in horror whilst holding his jacket and my white button up in the other hand.
"No! I don't want to hear it!" I yelled at him, "why the fuck didn't you run when I told you to? Well knowing what this castle is! And now you just rip my clothes off of me, you're damn lucky I am wearing my tank top!"
"Ji you're bleeding," Jungwon slowly looked up at me, and that's when I realized his hand was drenched in a dark liquid.
"What?" I muttered and reached over to touch my left shoulder with my right hand.
Immediately I felt something warm and wet on my right hand whilst an intense pain was burning in my left shoulder. I looked at my right hand in horror as I returned it from my back. All covered in a dark liquid.
Jungwon didn't even hesitate before walking over to me and turning me around. He was completely silent as I could feel his fingers trail around the burning on my shoulder. His hands seemed awfully cold compared to the burning.
"I have good and bad news," Jungwon stated, making me just hum at him as I continued to stare at my own hand, "what do you want first."
"What?" I muttered making him sigh before just turning me to look at him.
"One... you haven't gotten bitten, but I think it's... a scratch...? A deep one at that," he started making me just nod, "second... you're bleeding profusely and neither of us are especially strong in the medical field."
"My shirt," I muttered and grabbed after my white shirt he still held.
"What about it?" Jungwon questioned.
"I need to wrap my shoulder to stop the bleeding," I urged and continued to grab after my shirt.
"I'll do it," Jungwon shook his head and walked over behind me, "you know... at least you can't amputate a shoulder."
"Not without taking the arm," I hummed at him, making him go silent as he wrapped the shirt around my shoulder, securing it tightly with a knot.
"I did not think about that," Jungwon sighed, making me let out a small laugh before wincing, "it hurts?"
"Yeah..." I hummed with a small nod.
"When we make it back to your bag-"
"Maybe," I reminded.
"If we maybe find your bag we'll have to rinse this with water," Jungwon pointed out and I just nodded at him, "And..."
Jungwon sighed as he turned around and looked around the room, searching for... something, I would assume.
"What are yo-" I started making him immediately raise a hand and hush me before he turned to the door he had locked and just stared at it.
"They're gone... whoever it was, is gone," he stated and I just hummed, seeing an absence of a shadow under the door.
"But what are you looking for?" I questioned as he crouched down on the floor and rolled his jacket together in a small bundle.
"Where to sleep," he excused, making me just hum at him as I watched him place his jacket bundle on the floor and lay down on it, "I think this will do..."
"You sure?" I questioned as I let out a small laugh, but I quickly stopped as I felt a stinging in my shoulder.
"Yeah... and I think... either you have to lay on top of me or lay on your right shoulder, only," he hummed and opened his arms for me.
"I'm not laying on top of you," I shook my head before carefully sitting down and slowly laying down on my right shoulder, up against Jungwon's side.
Jungwon carefully moved his arm to hold onto my waist, securing me from rolling down onto my wounded shoulder.
"I'm so sorry Ji," he sighed as he fixed my shirt around my shoulder.
"It's fine," I muttered, "just run when I tell you to from now on."
"Yeah... I think I learned my lesson," he nodded in agreement as a small frown grew on his face, "also... I think we might have to find a way to get the blood off our hands."
"Nah... it's fine," I shook my head at him as he smiled softly
As if he flipped on a switch his smile immediately dropped and he got a blank expression on his face, making me immediately push myself up on my elbow.
"Jungwon?" I questioned in confusion.
"I need to get out," Jungwon muttered in realization before rushing up and over to the door, "but if I open the door-... argh! what do I do?" he questioned as he sunk down on the floor and grabbed his hair.
