After having asked my question I just sat and held eye contact with Jungwon for a while before he eventually sighed and just nodded his head at me.
"Okay... I'll tell you," he nodded, "I'll tell you how it happened."
"It seems to be a sensitive subject," I commented and he just shrugged.
"I guess... I just wish I was normal you know?" he questioned with a small laugh, "I doubt anyone would feel happy with getting bit by a vampire."
"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to," I reminded him and he just shook his head as he stared at the candle standing on the floor in front of us.
"Of all people I could tell, I think you deserve it the most," he assured before a small smile broke out on his face, it was more of a bittersweet smile than the usual happy and bubbly one, "I mean... look at the mess I dragged you into... all because of my own needs."
"It's fine," I assured him once again and reached over and grabbed his hand.
I carefully lifted his hand over in my lap and wrapped it in both of my hands as I just began playing with his fingers. It had been something I had been used to doing whenever I had to calm him down and usually it seemed to work, so I could only hope it would calm him down at this moment.
"You remember that time when we cooked dinner at your house because your parents were working late? So you had asked me to come over and cook dinner with you so you wouldn't be so lonely? We watched movies and played games and all," Jungwon spoke and I just hummed at him with a small nod, even if he continued staring at the flame burning on top of the candle, "I guess I ended up going home at 10 or 11 that night... it ended up getting a lot later than usual, that much I remember. You know... the actual walk home wasn't that bad. I got home and got ready for bed and all... I remember calling you before going to bed, because I wanted to make sure your parents had gotten home and you didn't feel too scared. I know how scared you are of being home alone."
"It was so sweet of you and you sounded so happy over the phone," I reminisced with a small smile on my face as he just hummed at me.
"I was happy," he nodded, "it was right around the time I realized I had fallen for you and wanted to take you on a date. I had fallen for you so badly, head over heels. I just didn't know it would end up taking me eight months to ask you out."
"Tell me what happened," I urged and he hesitantly nodded at me.
"I had barely even dropped my phone on my bed after having talked to you and I had just been pushed down on my bed and he... he bit me," Jungwon admitted almost as if he still was in disbelief, "I feel like I'm sounding so weak now that I am telling it out loud but... I just couldn't fight back. I had been pushed back so fast and the stinging feeling had immediately taken over my collarbone and I couldn't really think straight."
"I thought they had to bite the neck?" I questioned and he just shook his head at me.
"The skin on the neck is the thinnest and easiest to bite, but the collarbone can do as well," he simply shook his head.
I immediately reached over and grabbed the candle holder before bringing it closer to us as I hesitantly moved his shirt out of the way and looked at the two marks on his collarbone. He didn't even flinch, he seemed awfully calm as he just sat there and let me look at the two marks, not even minding I had pulled his shirt's collar to the side to actually see the marks.
"I'm so sorry," I muttered as I placed the candle down again, not looking away from the two marks, "it's my fault."
"It is not," he shook his head at me as I looked up at him. He was already looking down at me with a sad expression on his face.
"Had I made you go home earlier, if I hadn't even invited you to make dinner with me... this would-" I continued but he immediately cut me off.
"That person would be in my room at that time no matter when I had gone home," he shook his head at me.
"I should've let you stay the night then," I insisted, making him shake his head once again.
"We both know your parents wouldn't have allowed that, and it was a school day the next day," he reminded.
"But you were sick," I reminded him.
"I wasn't," he stated and realization slowly hit me as I carefully traced his collarbone where the two marks were.
"What did it do?" I questioned before letting go of his shirt and looking back up at him again, "if it didn't make you sick, why weren't you in school?"
"When you're bit by a vampire it hurts," he excused with a small shrug, "I couldn't move my right shoulder for four days... I didn't have an appetite... it was just screwing with my body all over, making it turn into whatever I now am."
"You should've called me," I stated as he just shook his head.
"I was scared that the person was still there... I didn't even let my family into my room," he excused and pressed his fingers to the corners of his eyes.
"It's fine," I assured him and waved his hand away from his eyes.
"I don't want to be weak at a time like this," he shook his head at me, "I have to stay strong because I dragged you into this and I should show an example for how calm and collected we have to be to get through this."
"Jungwon-ah..." I softly spoke making him look back at me, "I want you to cry about this... you need it... you can't hold it in for eight months as if it's nothing."
"I want it to be nothing," he quietly whispered as he looked at me, for the first time showing how scared he actually was.
"Here... lay your head in my lap," I urged, making him give me a puzzled look as I placed his hand back in his own lap, "come on... you need it."
Jungwon gave me a weird look before hesitantly just nodding and moving around so his head laid in my lap. I smiled softly down at him as he just stared up at the ceiling and placed his hands on his stomach. I carefully began playing with small strands of his hair as tears slowly began dropping from his eyes.
"I know... I know..." I softly whispered and tapped the sides of his head to stop the tears flowing before it hit my legs, "but you know what? We're gonna rest a bit now, not for too long, and once we're done resting we'll get out of here, find the first and best way to turn you back to a normal boy. When we have done that we're gonna go home, you'll stay the night and in the morning it'll be like nothing of this ever happened... I'll even make pancakes for us."
"I'm so sorry," Jungwon croaked out, making me immediately hush him.
"Stop it. I'm honored to be the one you trust enough to do this," I assured him, "didn't you see how two of the girls claimed that they didn't care for their boy."
"Let's move slowly through the castle," Jungwon muttered, "we'll move from room to room... once we're in a new room we'll rest and eat, if there's food. We'll find the solution when we find it."
"Exactly," I nodded down at him, "now try and get some sleep... if you vampires do that."
"Not when we're fully turned," he slowly shook his head, "but I'm not a vampire yet."
"Right... you're in an awkward point in between," I nodded at him, "so try and sleep."
"You too," he reminded me and I just nodded at him as I ran a hand through his hair and watched as his eyes slowly closed at the soft sensation.
As the seconds and minutes passed by Jungwon's breathing slowly got more steady and deeper by each exhale, meaning he slowly was drifting off.
