I don't think I've ever seen anyone rush down a flight of stairs as fast as Jungwon rushed down the stairs to the ground floor. Once he had reached the bottom he excitedly turned and looked at me with a wide grin.
"Come on Ji!" Jungwon exclaimed excitedly, making me just smile as I walked down the stairs and grabbed his hand in mine.
"You need to calm down," I softly stated, making him just nod at me and jump a few times in his place, "we need to find a kitchen and you need to calm down."
"I know where there is a kitchen," he happily stated, making me frown at him.
"You do?" I questioned him and he happily nodded.
"When we waited for you... we explored the ground floor," he hummed with a nod before looking around the front hall, "we need to go down that hallway and turn right, turn left and then through the third door on the right."
"Impressive you could remember that," I commented, "especially considering you couldn't remember to take the second right turn when going to my house."
"Okay... but that is complicated!" he quickly defended, making me simply arch a brow at him, "not really, but you know... I store... random and useless stuff..." he sheepishly stated making me sigh and just give his hand a squeeze.
"Show the way," I mumbled, making Jungwon just happily begin dragging me down the hallway that was through the door to the left of the front hall, under the staircase we had run down from.
The hallway was filled with doors, some with no doorknobs. The ones that didn't have a doorknob either had a hole where a doorknob once was situated, or just a solid door with no hole or any sign of a doorknob. Other doors were completely white, others were just half a door. It almost looked like this hallway had been ravaged by an angry hoard of football fans.
"Are you sure this is the right way?" I piped up making Jungwon just look down at me before nodding at me and tugging me down an open hallway to our right.
"I am positive," he nodded as he continued to just pull me along.
"I guess I'll just have to trust you..." I slowly trailed off as I looked at the new surroundings the new hallway gave us, before I snapped my head back to look at Jungwon, "you know what this has given us?"
"A near death experience?" he questioned as he glanced down at me, a coy smile on his face.
"No..." I sighed at him, "I've quite literally learned to put my life in your hands."
"Ah... you were actually being serious," he muttered, making me look up to him with a tired face, "yeah... I don't know... you're quite literally saving mine, so I guess I could say the same to you."
I let out a small hum before I let my hand slip out of his to reach my arms up above my head and stretch my back. I let out a small hiss at the pain from my left shoulder. I don't exactly know how long had passed since I got that injury, but it wasn't exactly as painful anymore as it had been once.
"It still hurts?" Jungwon questioned as I let my arms drop down to my sides once again.
"Yes and no," I replied, "it doesn't hurt right now... but I think if I put pressure or stretch out the part it's not that good."
"Ah... I see," he hummed at me, "we'll treat it properly when we get out."
He carefully tugged on my hand once again and directed me down a hallway to our left, only passing a few doors before he opened the door to reveal a kitchen.
"Wait," I called out, making Jungwon stop and look back at me before he entered the kitchen, "I need to say something."
"Can it wait?" he questioned and I shook my head at him, "is it important?"
"Sorta," I hummed at him.
"Oh well... what?" he questioned and reached over to give my hand a small squeeze.
"If what that Sunoo boy said is true... I want you to get out of here as quickly as possible. Don't think for a second about taking me with you," I stated.
"What are you talking about?" he let out a small laugh at me.
"We've come too far for this reversal thingy. If we succeed in it, at the cost of my life then let me be," I started making a small frown just grow on my face as he looked at me with a mix of confusion and amusement.
"Wha-" he started once again.
"I'm serious," I stated, "tell my parents that when you showed up at the carnival I wasn't there, say I ran away or something. If you stay in here and those elderly thingy vampire people get you then all our work would've gone to waste, and so would my life."
"Stop joking about Ji, you'll be fine," he let out a small laugh, "we are gonna do the one that puts you at the lowest risk, remember?"
"Yeah bu-" I started making him just cut me off.
"Exactly, so you'll be just fine. We'll walk out of here hand in hand and with nothing to worry about," he assured and softly pulled me into the kitchen.
I stared at him for a few seconds before just nodding as he closed and locked the door behind me. How in the world was I gonna explain to him that he would have to draw the blood himself for the biggest chance of succeeding?
"So what's the first thing we need?" Jungwon eagerly questioned.
