"Ji?" Jungwon called out, making me hum and look at him, snapping out of my trance, "what's the first thing we'll need?"
"A cauldron," I started making him nod at me.
"We're brewing something?" he questioned and I nodded at him, "what?"
"Well... it says that it either should be applied to where you got bitten, or you have drunk it," I explained and he slowly nodded, "we just have one problem I might have not considered."
"What?" he questioned as he eagerly looked around in search of a cauldron.
"Where in a vampire manifested castle would you find garlic?" I questioned making him straighten up and just look at me.
"Do we need garlic?" he questioned and I slowly nodded at him.
"And we need a lot," I said, making him hum as a frown grew on his face.
"Okay... uhm... ah! I got it!" a wide grin spread on his face, "couldn't there be some in the preservation room Sunoo hyung mentioned?"
"Maybe..." I shrugged, making him sigh as he looked around.
"Okay... Here's the plan... I fly to the preservation room, and you lock the door after me. You only open the door when you hear these knocks," he stated and knocked in a rhythmical manner on the table, "after that you ask for a date. Any date that has any relation to us. What day we became seatmates, when I asked you out, anything. Okay?"
"Are you sure?" I questioned him, "They did say we were never alone and it would be stupid to get separated," I reminded him.
I didn't get an answer. Instead Jungwon just walked over and cupped my face, placing a soft kiss on my lips. Letting our lips stay together for no longer than two seconds before he pulled away and softly rubbed his thumbs on my cheeks.
"It'll be fine, I promise," he assured with a small smile and unlocked the door beside me, "look for the cauldron in the meantime."
"Okay," I muttered with a small nod.
"I'll be back before you know it," he assured and I nodded at him as he opened the door and flew away.
I quietly closed the door and locked it again before turning back to the rest of the kitchen. The kitchen seemed awfully quiet and empty now that I was alone in it.
Sucking in a deep breath I began looking through the cabinets and drawers in hopes of finding any cauldron or anything that could stand on a heated stove. I did find a cauldron. I found it in the cupboard under the sink. It wasn't any big or small cauldron, I guess it was normal..? sized. Not that I even knew what a normal sized cauldron looked like.
Placing the cauldron on the stove and carefully turning it on I was left by myself to just wait for Jungwon to return. I leaned up against the kitchen table in the kitchen, keeping my eyes set on the door at the other end of the room, waiting to hear the three rhythmical knocks.
It felt like time went agonizingly slow just waiting for the three knocks. But when they came I felt a wave of relief wash over me. I had never rushed to a door quicker than I had in that moment. But I had to pause and stop myself from opening the door. I let out a small breath as I tried to come up with a date I could possibly remember.
"What day did you stay at my house and cooked dinner with me, because I was too scared to be home alone?" I questioned quietly waiting for an answer as my hand rested on the lock to the door.
"November 30, 2020," Jungwon's voice replied, making me let out a deep breath as I unlocked the door and Jungwon rushed in, immediately wrapping an arm around me as I closed the door and locked it again, "told you it would be fine."
"Did you get it?" I muttered and pushed him away from me.
He immediately smiled at me before holding up a jar with a yellow liquid and white chunks floating around in it. It honestly looks disgusting but the small sticker on the outside of it gave away that it was indeed garlic juice.
"What are the chances?" I muttered and walked over to the stove as Jungwon trailed after me having opened the jar.
"Oh my... that's disgusting!" Jungwon called out as he walked over beside me, the jar extended away from him.
As the smell of the garlic juice hit my nose I immediately scrunched up my nose. I quickly grabbed the lid and placed it on top of the jar, not screwing it shut but just covering it up.
"So what are we gonna do with it?" Jungwon questioned making me sigh and pull out the paper I had ripped out the book.
"We heat some garlic juice for one minute and then... uh... we'll have to mix it with my blood and let it heat for two more minutes," I quietly said.
"We have to mix it with your what?" Jungwon questioned, making me sigh and turn to him.
"I know I didn't tell you, but we need to make sure the reversal happens as fast as possible. We're going through with this one no matter what you think," I stated making him just stare down at me with pursed lips.
"How should the blood be drawn from you?" he questioned with a huff.
"It stated that... uhm... the bitten individual should draw the blood with their fangs for the biggest chance of success," I quietly read from the paper making it go completely silent in the room before Jungwon let out a small sigh and dragged his hand over his face before it just rested and covered his mouth.
"Ji, I can't do that," Jungwon sighed as he shook his head, "I refuse to."
"We need to try," I defended, making him sigh.
"No, I'm seriously not going to do it," he shook his head.
"Why?" I questioned him, cocking my head to one side as he just stared at me before shaking his head at me, "we need to make sure it works out."
"My fangs aren't fully developed yet," he shook his head, "I could draw the blood, but... because they're not fully developed it is said to be unbearably painful for the one being bitten. I can't do any more harm to you."
"What do you want to do then? Continue through this castle for an unknown amount of time, barely surviving on the minimum of water and food?" I questioned him, making him sigh.
"If we're gonna do this, I will not leave you behind in here," he stated and I just nodded at him, "without any help you'll end up dying in here after I've bitten you. An unchanged vampire can't transform other people, they can only kill and cause extreme pain."
"It's fine... don't think about it hurting me, just focus on yourself, okay?" I questioned and he nodded before I turned back to the cauldron.
"Wait," he said and grabbed my hand from grabbing the garlic juice, "if this goes wrong I need to do something," he excused, making me raise my eyebrows at him.
"What?" I questioned him.
Instead of answering me just wrapped his other arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him, the other quickly cupping my cheek as he placed his lips on mine again. I slowly closed my eyes at the feeling of his lips against mine. I immediately relaxed a lot more, and I could feel the same as he did.
He slowly pulled his lips away from mine before leaning his forehead against mine, staring back into my eyes as his thumb softly caressed my cheek.
"Thank you," he muttered.
