I sat heaving after my breath, patting Jungwon's head to wake him up. Whispering and hissing out pleads for him to wake up again. His head was still laying in my lap, his eyes completely closed as he was quietly breathing in shallow breaths. All I could do was sit and do the bare minimum as tears kept rolling down over my cheeks.
"Jung... won... please," my voice was hoarse as I pleaded for him to wake up once again, "please," my voice cracked and I felt myself slowly give up.
Soon enough a small cough came from Jungwon, making a small hope spark up in me. I looked down at him, trying to keep my eyes open through my exhaustion, pain and nausea. Another few coughs came from him, making me pat his head a few more times.
"Come on," I whispered.
For an unknown amount of time Jungwon continued to lay and let out coughs. All until he suddenly sat up, as if waking from the dead, whilst gasping for air and letting out another series of coughs.
A small smile spread on my face as I turned my head to the side and watched Jungwon sit wide awake beside me as his coughs slowly died down one by one.
"I'm alive..." Jungwon muttered in realization as he patted his body down with a small laugh escaping his mouth, "Ji! It wor-" Jungwon turned around with a wide grin on his face but immediately paused as his face faltered, "no, no, no," he immediately muttered and rushed over, cupping my face to hold up my head, "no, no no, we were supposed to do something that wouldn't harm you."
"I'm alright," I whispered, making him immediately shake his head at me.
"You're not," he shook his head at me, "you're bleeding, you're pale... you almost look dead."
"But... did it work?" I asked him, "can you feel a difference?"
"I have a really bad taste in my mouth," he shook his head making a small smile spread across my face, "I think it worked... but we really need to get you out of here."
"No... you go," I shook my head as he looked down to my neck and placed a hand to the side he had bitten, "go Jungwon."
"What are you gonna do? Stop me?" he questioned with a saddened laugh, "how are you gonna fight back? I mean... look at you... you almost look like a dead person."
"I wish," I muttered, making him let out a small huff.
"I don't care what you say. We might've entered this separately, but I swear we're gonna get out together," he stubbornly insisted.
I couldn't fight back in any way when he had swooped me off the floor with an arm under my knees and behind my back. Immediately I felt pain flood over me again and feeling a gag work up my body.
"Set me down, set me down," I quickly muttered and patted Jungwon's chest, "set me down."
"No, we're going home together," he shook his head.
"Set me down," I muttered once more, making Jungwon look down at me, "I'm gonna be sick."
Jungwon quickly set my feet down on the ground and wrapped an arm tightly around my waist from behind. He somehow managed to get me over to the sink, dragging me like I was a ragdoll, and pulled my hair back for me.
"It's fine, it's alright. I'm here," Jungwon softly muttered as I closed my eyes tightly and desperately tried to focus on not throwing up, "I'm here."
"Just leave," I whispered as I shook my head, "I can't... I can't live."
"Yes you can... I know you can," he assured and patted my stomach softly.
That small pat was all it took for me to throw up in the sink. I don't even know what there really was to throw up but some very watery mix of chewed grapes and water was the only thing I could imagine actually got out.
Once my stomach was completely empty my knees immediately buckled and Jungwon had to sit down on the floor with me instead.
"Leave," I whispered once again.
"I am not leaving," Jungwon sternly stated, "we're getting out of here together."
"I'm as good as dead," I weakly snorted at him, "just leave."
"You're not as good as dead," he shook his head at me once again, "I'll get you out, treat your wounds, get food and water into you and you bet your ass I'll cuddle you until you sleep soundly in your bed."
"I'm a waste of your energy," I shook my head.
"You will never be a waste of my energy. You hear me? Never," he sternly stated, "you are my fate Ji... I'm sure of it. Without you I have even less of a fate than what I would have if we didn't do the reversal. You are my fate. I'm meant to be with you."
"You're rambling," I muttered.
"I'm serious," he shook his head, "now... I'm gonna lift you up, and I'll run out of here and back home to you. On the way I'll come up with some excuse to your parents as to what happened and you'll just play along, okay?"
"What if I die?" I muttered, "when you're running... what if I die?"
"You don't," he shook his head, "any time you feel like slipping or seeing the light just tug on my shirt. Tug and I'll give you a kiss."
"I just threw up," I pointed out and he simply shrugged.
"I do believe that by now we're both pretty disgusting anyways..." he let out a small laugh and brushed my hair out of my face, "now... will you let me save you this time? I need to pay you back."
I didn't reply before Jungwon had slipped his arm back under my knees and under my shoulders, lifting me off the ground.
"I'll save you now."
