"I'm scared I'll end up hurting you," Jungwon calmly admitted, making me frown up at him.
"Why would you hurt me? Haven't you tried to protect me the whole time we've been here?" I questioned in confusion, making him just nod before looking down at me.
"I was protecting you when I used that door to separate us this morning," Jungwon admitted.
"How so?" I questioned in confusion, making him sigh before running his hands over his face and through his hair, ruffling it as he did, "tell me Jungwon... I want to know. Why are you protecting me when you're separating us?"
"I... I'm getting blood urges and I'm scared I'll hurt you because we're the only ones that's here," he slowly admitted before glancing over at me. For a moment I didn't say anything, I just stared at him.
"Okay," I nodded at him, making him immediately frown at me, "tell me when you get these and I'll try and help you."
"You don't get it Ji," he shook his head, "it's as if something takes over my body and I have to fight against it before I hurt anyone."
"But have you hurt anyone yet?" I questioned and he shook his head at me, "then why should I be the first one?"
"Because they're getting worse... and you're the only living person around us," he slowly replied, "I can't control it... please promise to hide from me when you can see it happens. I really don't want to hurt you."
"I can't let you be alone at those times," I shook my head at him as a frown grew on my face.
"Please Ji," he muttered before looking over at me with sad eyes, "I can't let you be the first one I'll hurt. You need to help me with this."
I stared at him for some time before eventually sighing and just nodding at him before I looked back up at the ceiling again.
"Thank you," Jungwon muttered in return to me.
I silently hummed and just waved it off as I continued to look up at the ceiling. I didn't like the idea of that promise. Wasn't I here to help him? Then why would I then have to run off when he was struggling?
"Ji?" Jungwon questioned and I just hummed at him, "are you alright?"
"Just a bit disappointed I guess," I shrugged at him as he just stayed silent. Once I glanced at him I immediately realized he was frowning at me, "the only thing you need me for is to return to a normal boy... you don't actually need me to be here for you, do you?"
"Of course I need you to be here," he frowned down at me, "if you weren't here I would still be sitting in the front hall thinking of what to do. You're the only one who could've made me get this far in such a short time."
"Then why won't you let me be there when you really need it?" I questioned him, making him sigh at me.
"Can't we just agree that when I tell you to go hide from me, you'll do it?" he questioned, making me just stare at him, "it's just this one thing you need to do for me."
"No! It's not!" I exclaimed at him before just sitting up, making him follow right after and sit up in front of me, "I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you! I would be home, in my room, wondering why my first date stood me up. And right now I'd rather have that, than be trapped in some castle with a bunch of people that are trying to kill me! The least you could do is let me be there when you're struggling, no matter what it is."
"You're hungry and tired," Jungwon softly spoke as I just shook my head at him.
"No! Or well... yes! I'm hungry and tired, but I'm also possibly slowly going insane," I complained to him, "and I just want to go home and be a normal school girl... heck I'll even watch a romance movie for me to feel normal!"
"You do realize what this place is doing to you, right?" Jungwon questioned making me look at him in confusion, "you would've never lashed out at me like this if we were doing anything else... no matter what I had told or done to you... just admit it's having an effect on you Ji."
"But... but..." I trailed off making him just sigh as he grabbed onto my hand and pulled me into his embrace.
"I know..." he softly muttered, "but just... let's make these promises to each other. Any promise we make in this castle we'll keep until we die... okay?"
"I really want to go home," I muttered and slowly wrapped my arms around him and buried my face in his shoulder.
"I know," Jungwon nodded and patted my hair softly, "and I promise I'll take you home right when we're done here... I promise, I promise, I promise, I promise."
I stayed silent as I just clung onto Jungwon. I didn't even know what was happening with me anymore. It was like I slowly was going insane now that the dark had fallen. As if... instead of feeling fear once the dark fell, I felt insane instead. I didn't act like my usual self when the sun wasn't up.
"How about we sleep?" Jungwon questioned and lifted my head up to look at him, "you look tired."
"Okay..." I muttered with a small nod.
He smiled softly at me before carefully laying down and opening his arms towards me. I just stared at him, not getting what he was hinting at.
"I need to hold onto you when we sleep to make sure you're not taken away during the night," Jungwon excused.
I smiled softly at him before just nodding and laying down in his arms. He immediately wrapped an arm around my waist and pulled me close to him, as his other hand covered my neck, so that nothing could get to it.
"I promise to protect you, okay?" Jungwon questioned and I just nodded before I reached up and wrapped an arm across his chest and up over his shoulder, "try and sleep... I'll be here again in the morning... I promise."
"Thanks..." I muttered.
"You go to sleep first this time... I'll stay awake until I know you're sleeping," he softly muttered and I just nodded as my eyes drooped close.
