After buying an arrangement of different outfits, we headed back to the hotel.
"You know." Donovan started. "You're not half as bad, y/n." He said and gave me a small smirk.

"Same goes for you, Donovan." I said and gave a full smile.

We went up, and he helped me carry the bags to my room.
"You know the aparment is quite big. I could make some space for you." Donovan suggested shyly.

"That's so sweet of you. But I don't think James would appreciate that." I said and felt a bit uncomfortable at the topic.

"Well, the least he could is give you a better room. I mean, this one's not even next to his real room." He sighed. "If you change your mind, just let me know." He added and headed back to the elevator.

"I will. Thank you!" I yelled after him and went into my room.

I started inspecting my new clothes and packed them away until there was a knock on my door.
I went to open it and saw James on the other side.

"Good evening, my dear." He said with a smile.

"Good evening, James." I said, and he kissed my cheek.

"I couldn't help but notice your and Elizabeths 'friend' visit you." He said, doing little air quotes on the word friend.

"Oh yes. Donovan. I don't think you need the air quotes anymore." I said, and his face scrunched into confusion. "We went shopping today. He's actually not that bad." I said and smiled.
His face scrunched up even more, so I quickly took his hand in my and stroked it. "No need to make that face, my dearest. Friends. That is all."

"Well. Good then." He said and lifted his head back high. "Why don't you show me what you bought?" He asked and lead me to the rundown wardrobe.

"I'm not sure that you'll like any of it." I said with a light laugh.

"Probably not. But I'm still interested." He said and chuckled low.

I showed him the different things, and he seemed utterly shocked that I would agree to buy something like that.
