We laughed and hugged. It felt weird but good. "I'm glad we're friends, Donovan." I said, and he nodded.
"You make this place less shitty y/n." He said and smirked.

We rode up to his apartment, and we chilled for a bit until Elizabeth stormed in.

"Wow, that Duffy guy. Huh." Donovan teased. Her head turned to him, and if looks could kill, he'd be 6 feet under.

"He's something." I agreed, and we smirked at Elizabeth. Then she sat down with us.

"Why must you both hurt me so." She sighed.

Her sudden change in demeanor surprised me much more than Donovan.
"You started this shit. Don't act like we're the bad guys." He said and crunched his nose. "We don't owe you shit." He said, and her eyes widened.

"You owe me everything. Don't forget your place. Without me, you'd been dead a long time ago." She said and held her head high.

"Maybe that would've been better." He snarled.

"Donovan. Calm down." I said carefully.

"If you feel that way, I can always take the gift of life away from you." She said and showed her glove.

"I could do that myself too." He scoffed.

The tension was thick enough to cut it until Tristan walked in. He wasn't just drunk, and the whole scene that unfolded in front of me made me burst out laughing like some sort of maniac. Everyone stared at me as I lost my shit.
