The next day, I had a photo shoot featuring one of the jewelry pieces from the latest collection, 'Seventeen Carats'. As I was getting ready for the shoot, Mingyu and his secretary walked in.

"Hello, Mr. Mingyu and Mr. Wonwoo. It's nice to see you both," I greeted them warmly.

"Hello, Ms. Do-hee. Nice to see you too. I'm just here to check on the shoot, don't mind me," Mingyu replied curtly, scanning the setup with his secretary quietly in tow. I still felt grateful to him for that day he intervened, even if indirectly. Also, those slippers I still hadn't returned.

"By the way, Mr. Mingyu, I want to thank you once again for what you did that day. The stalker has been sentenced to five years in prison. It turns out he had been committing similar crimes before without getting caught. I'm really relieved to hear that," I shared, feeling like he deserved to know.

"That's... great news. I'm happy for you. And no need to thank me. I just happened to be there at the right time," Mingyu replied awkwardly, looking slightly uncomfortable with the compliment.

"I'm still grateful to you. And I apologize for not returning your doggy slippers yet," I added, noticing Mr. Wonwoo's sudden interest in the conversation.

"Oh, those... um, you can keep them. Consider it a gift from me," Mingyu hurriedly responded, his actions confusing me a little.

"Doggy... slippers?" Mr. Wonwoo questioned, clearly perplexed.

"Yeah, doggy slippers that Mr. Mingyu..." I started to explain when Mingyu quickly interjected.

"Ms. Do-hee, I think the shoot is about to start. We won't keep you any longer," Mingyu said abruptly.

"Ah, okay. It's nice to see you both again," I replied, bowing slightly before heading off to begin the photo shoot. Throughout the session, I noticed Mingyu and his secretary discussing something quietly as they observed. They kept their focus on me the entire time. Once the shoot concluded and I changed back into my clothes, I realized they had already left.

'I guess they left before the shoot ended'

I mused to myself as I checked my phone and saw a message from Joshua ten minutes earlier.

After texting Joshua, I noticed Haewon looking at me with a smirk on her face.

"Who are you texting with that expression?"

"What expression? I made no face," I said, confused.

"That expression! It looks like you're in love," she teased.

"Haewon, stop watching those romantic comedies. They're affecting your perception."

"You watch those dramas too. Heck, you even starred in them. Anyway, who is it?"

"It's Joshua. The dinner I owe him is tomorrow."

"Oooh, the date," Haewon exclaimed excitedly.

"Not a DATE. It's just a friendly dinner," I reiterated, shaking my head.

"Okay, if you say so," she replied, rolling her eyes as if I were the one talking nonsense.

"Well, what are you going to wear for the dinner?" she asked as we headed to our car.
