'Do Do-hee?'

I was shocked to see her lying in front of my car. I looked around and saw someone running away. "HEY! STOP!" I shouted, but he was already far away. Instead of running after him, I went back to Do-hee. I kneeled beside her and patted her face. "Ms. Do-hee! Ms. Do-hee, open your eyes!" She was unconscious. I checked to see if she was bleeding or badly injured. Thank God, she wasn't bleeding. I carried her to my car and placed her in the seat. I quickly called my private doctor and told him to come to my house as soon as possible, then drove her to my house.

At my house, I carried her to my room and placed her on my bed. She seemed to have fainted from shock. I checked her once again for injuries and noticed her feet were covered with cuts and bruises. She wasn't wearing any shoes.

'Gosh, what exactly happened to you?'

I took out the first aid kit and tended to her feet as she lay unconscious on my bed, wondering what could have happened to cause her to be in this state. The cuts and bruises on Do-hee's feet made me worry even more about her well-being. I couldn't imagine what she had gone through to end up running barefoot.

I started to clean her wounds with alcohol wipes and bandaged her feet. I couldn't help but feel a mix of pity and confusion for her.

'Why is she like this? What could have possibly driven her to this? I need to find out exactly what happened.'

I continued to tend to her wounds as I waited for the doctor to arrive. Soon, the doctor came. "Hello, Dr. Lee. This is Do Do-hee, my... my friend. I called you to inspect her. As she was crossing the road, I almost hit her, but thankfully, I hit the brakes in time. There's no bleeding, but she's unconscious. Could there be any internal bleeding?" I asked worriedly.

"No, there's no internal bleeding. That's a relief. She's unconscious likely because of the shock. She might have a minor concussion. But let me see if there's any injury. Ms. Do-hee, can you hear me? This is Dr. Lee. Are you conscious?"

Do-hee remained unconscious throughout the examination. The doctor checked her body and didn't find any serious injuries apart from the ones on her feet.

After examining her, he said, "It seems like the injuries are not serious. But Do-hee doesn't seem to be fully conscious right now. I think we should wait a few more hours for her to regain her senses. Until then, I'll make sure no other injury was overlooked."

"Doctor, how long will she stay unconscious? Is she going to be alright?" I asked, feeling tense for her.

"It's hard to say for now. She might regain consciousness at any time, or it could take a few more hours. Just be patient; I am sure she'll be fine soon. I think it's best if we keep monitoring her for a few more hours until she wakes up. When she does, call me again. I'll prescribe her some medicines."

"Alright, thank you, doctor. I'll keep an eye on her," I said, feeling reassured.

The doctor left, and I stayed in the room with Do-hee. I sat in the corner of the room, waiting for her to wake up. While waiting, I decided to call her manager, Ms. Haewon, to notify her of what happened. On the third ring, she picked up the phone.

"Hello? Mr. Mingyu? I'm sorry, but can I call you back later? I'm extremely busy right now."

"Ms. Haewon, it's actually about Ms. Do-hee."

"Do-hee! Do you know where she is?! Is she with you?! Is she okay?!"

"Ms. Haewon, she's at my place. I'll send you my address. I'll tell you what happened once you come here." I then ended the call. It seemed like Ms. Haewon was the last person Do-hee talked with, given her response. I then waited for her to arrive and for Do-hee to wake up.
