"I love you, Do Do-hee."

I think I heard him wrong. "What? I'm sorry, Mingyu, but I think I misheard you–"

"No, you didn't. You heard me correctly. I know we're a fake couple right now, but... the thing is," he paused, taking a deep breath before continuing. "I want to confess that the feelings I have for you are much stronger than just a fake relationship..." He fell silent, waiting anxiously for her reaction to his heartfelt confession.

Do-hee had always believed Mingyu had no feelings for her, seeing their relationship as mere pretense. His confession caught her off guard, sinking her heart as the realization of his crush hit her hard. Thoughts raced through her mind as she grappled with this unexpected revelation.

'What am I supposed to say? Should I confess back? I don't even know where to begin...'

"I... Mingyu... I... I'm sorry, Mingyu, but I think you might be mistaken," I rambled nervously.

"That's not the case. I'm not mistaken; I'm sure of my feelings for you," Mingyu replied firmly. His determination to confess left me feeling cornered. He had come this far, and it seemed unlikely he would back down now. Anxiety and panic churned in my stomach as I struggled to find the right words.

"Mingyu... I... I..." Before I could say more, he gently placed his hand over my mouth, silencing me.

"Shhh," he whispered softly. "It's okay. You don't have to say anything right now. Take your time to answer me. I just wanted to confess how I feel. I don't want to pressure you into responding. I just hope you'll consider giving me a chance before making a decision." He chuckled nervously, trying to lighten the mood. I remained frozen, speechless, overwhelmed by his words and his unexpected touch. My cheeks flushed with heat as I realized how unprepared I was for this moment. My heart raced, and I couldn't tear my gaze away from his. Lost for words, I felt a flutter of butterflies in my stomach, remembering the closeness we had shared. He let his fingers lightly brush against my cheek before lowering his hand.

"I could still feel the weight of Mingyu's words lingering as I arrived home. I was still processing his confession, trying to sort out my feelings and figure out what to do next. The memory of his touch kept replaying in my mind, leaving me feeling flustered and unsure. Feeling overwhelmed, I called Haewon over to my place to discuss everything.

"HE-WHAT?! HE CONFESSED TO YOU?! OH MY GOSH!!" Haewon's reaction was exactly as I expected—shocked and completely astonished. She clearly hadn't anticipated this turn of events, especially considering our arrangement as a fake couple.

"Yeah," I replied, keeping my tone straightforward despite the swirling mix of emotions Mingyu's confession had stirred within me.

"So?? What did you say to him??" Haewon asked excitedly.

I realized she was eager for an answer about how I responded to Mingyu's confession. "Well, I..." I sighed softly, gathering my thoughts before speaking. I wanted to be honest with her. "I was about to tell him that I was sorry but..."

"What!? Did you reject him!?"

"I...I..." Her question made me feel guilty. I hadn't meant to sound like I had rejected him outright. I knew I could have responded better, in a way that didn't come off as a rejection. "It's not that I rejected him, or that I ever would... It's just that... I... I was about to explain, but he stopped me. He said to take my time to reply to his confession," I explained nervously.

"So what you're saying is that you didn't actually reject him? It's just that you wanted to take your time before you gave him a proper response?" Haewon clarified, her tone understanding.
