Chapter 22

Geneviève POV 🧡

After dancing the night away with Katherine, I fell asleep on the couch to be wakened by the smell of bacon.

"Oh my gosh that smells great." I said waking up as I rubbed my eyes

"Yeah, who knew that the she-devil cooks." I heard Damon surprising that I sat straight up and looked at him

"You're here?" I asked confused

"Where else should I be?" He says looking at me for an answer but I didn't have one.

"Anyways after you eat there's someone I like to take you to go see." He says

"Shouldn't we wait for Klaus and Elijah to get back?" I ask

"I don't think Klaus is invited. Either way we'll be right back." He says

I just nodded and Katherine brought me over a plate with importantly bacon, eggs and french toast on it.

"Thank you, Katherine." I say starting to eat my food.

"No problem, little Bennett." Katherine says getting herself a plate.

"So there's none for me?" Damon asks hurt not to get a plate.

"No, I wouldn't have thought you would trust me enough to eat my food but then you did say I was heartless, so" she says sitting to eat her food.

I couldn't help but laugh at their interactions.

After breakfast, Damon took me to his house.

"Who's here that I should see?" I asked as we walked through the door.

"Just follow me." He says taking my hand and leading me into the study.

As we walked in I saw the girls until I saw a face I wasn't sure I'd see again.

"Bonnie." I said grabbing their attention.

"Geneviève." She says walking towards me.

I couldn't believe me eyes that I ran up to hug her. I couldn't help but cry because I just didn't believe it.

"I'm okay, Geneviève. It was all part of the plan, so everyone can stay safe." She explains to me.

"A Plan." I said shocked looking at her then back at Damon.

"We didn't want to risk you or Elena not really selling the part." Damon explains

"Oh." I said totally understanding what's happened the past few days.

I've been upset at Klaus for doing something that he never did and not giving him a chance like the others.

I think Damon knew what I was thinking by the face he made. It looked like sadness and some guilt. Unlike Bonnie she was overjoyed, I'm guessing because everyone she loves is okay and safe.

Then I looked at Elena and I felt that she's grieving.

Caroline seemed concerned and worried for her friend, while there was a feeling here that I didn't quite understand.

"Elena, are you okay?" I said being drawn to her emotions

"I'm as okay as I can be. Jenna was made part of the sacrifice." She says

"I'm sorry." I said walking over to her to give her a hug. And shockingly she hugged me back.

"Thank you." She says looking at me before going back to what she was looking at before I walked in.

"Are you ready to go back now?" Damon says watching me as I look around the study.

Bonnie caught it also but just observed .
