I Chose You

Thea walked from the library with her head held high as Ned, Lennon, Kyle, Amiah and Tristan all applauded her for what she said, as did a few others she didn't even know, including some staff members.

Greyson was shouting something that she couldn't quite make out as Ned and Tristan held him back. Thea could see Amiah out of the corner of her eye, begin to shout to berate her brother in front of the crowd, but Thea didn't stop to witness it. She walked down the halls, not listening to whatever was being said, and headed straight to the front doors of the school. And as she walked closer, she could see him. Bowie was standing leaning against the hood of his car, his arms folded with a huge smile on his face. Rowan was hopping out of the car next to him, laughing his head off as he did.

She opened the doors to the school and took off running down the steps as Bowie stood up. Just in time, too, as Thea jumped from the last step and leapt into his arms, wrapping her legs around him and hugging him tightly to her. "I missed you," she whispered as she leaned back to look into his eyes.

"I missed you too, little tiger," he chuckled as he kissed her. Not a peck either but a deep kiss. One that was probably awkward for everyone standing around watching. All too soon, he pulled his lips back, and she immediately missed the feel of them. "I saw your little tiff in there with that prick. I am damn proud of you, my love. The way you stood up for yourself and gave him a good dose of reality."

Thea raised an eyebrow. "How did you -"

He tapped his temple. "Mind link, remember. Kyle was nice enough to share with me. And I am very glad he did. I missed quite a show."

Thea's cheeks pooled with colour as she dipped her head down. "I am sorry but he -"

"Deserved what was said and more. You were lenient with him, which is much more than I would have been." He sat her on her feet but kept his arms around her. "I wanted to rip his head off when he asked for another chance with you. Trying to win you back." He couldn't look Thea in the eye as he spoke, but she could see the vulnerability behind them, which melted her head. "I understand if you wanted to give him another chance," he said quietly so no one else could hear. "I mean, it would mean you could stay in this pack with your family. You wouldn't have to uproot and move so far away from them. And -"

Thea kissed him again to shut him up, although his ramblings were adorable. "I chose you, Bowie. I already told Greyson that. You are the one the Moon Goddess sent to me, and you are the one I see when I picture the rest of my life. It's always going to be you."

A huge smile spread across Bowie's face as he kissed her again. This time with a sense of urgency. He kissed every inch of her face.

"Alright let her go so we can all say hello would you?" Rowan chuckled as Bowie reluctantly released Thea, so Rowan could give her a quick, not-too-close hug. "It's lovely to see you again, Thea." He smiled at her. "This one has been fucking miserable without you around. Like a love-sick teenager."

"Have not," Bowie pouted as the rest of the gang joined us.

"He's been a fucking nightmare," Maverick laughed as he hugged Thea too.

"Is no one going to hug me? I have been away all week too," Kyle said with his arms open.

"And it was a very quiet week," Rowan sighed. "Pure bliss."

"He is only saying that because he got to taste test all Bowie's meals for him," Maverick tilted his head back and laughed as Ned approached him. "Ned!" He smiled. "I got your text and I have the workouts with me." He held up his iPad as Ned's whole face lit up.

"Excellent! Do you have time to go over them now?" He looked between Bowie and Maverick as Bowie chuckled and nodded.

"I think I could give you an hour or two to compare and swap notes," he sighed, leaning into Thea again and taking a huge breath in, seeping in her scent. She was mouthwatering. "I was hoping to see Thea's family while I was here."
