When breakfast was over and Thea had helped clear the table, they headed out for a walk around the grounds as Maverick, Rowan and the rest of Bowie's pack went to pack up the guest house and prepare to head home. As Kyle and Lennon were staying, they didn't need to pack, so they were staying to act as body guards to Bowie as they walked. Not that he needed anyone, but by offering the boys were at least putting Brian's mind to rest.
It was a beautiful day, and as Thea walked around holding Bowie's hand and linking arms with her father, she sighed in content at how things were working out. She had her mate whom she adored. Tristan and her best friend were also mated, so she didn't need to worry about either of them. Ned's birthday would be in a week, and she was praying that he too would find his mate. She had grown to love all of Bowie's pack members and she was excited to meet Bowie's mother and sister next weekend. They knew nothing about her yet as Bowie wanted it to be a surprise. Her family all seemed to adore Bowie as much as she did.
She was still worried about having to leave the pack and having her family live so far away and leaving her dad with the girls, but she knew that he would be fine and that her brain was overthinking. Besides, she had a few weeks left before she really had to panic.
They had rounded the corner heading to the farmyard and stables when they heard a "wait up!" coming from behind them. Thea just had time to turn around when Willow leapt into her arms, giving her a huge hug.
"Oomph!" Thea groaned but smiled as one of the pack nanny's came running behind them.
"My apologies," the nanny called breathlessly. "She saw you across the yard, and nothing would do until she got to say hello to everyone."
"It's no problem at all," Paul smiled. "Where is my hug?" Willow sqeualed in delight and leapt from Thea to her father.
"Bowie, this is Brenda. She is one of our pack nannies, and she has the patience of a saint." Thea explained as Bowie held his hand out to the lady to shake. "Brenda, this is Zeta Bowie, my mate."
Brenda smiled warmly and shook his hand. "It is a pleasure to meet you, sir. I feel like I should be bowing for royalty like yourself. I definitely should be dressed better than in my jeans and t-shirt with a paintbrush holding my hair up."
Bowie laughed. "No bowing necessary, and you look fine. Lovely even." She had a charm about her. An innocence that Bowie liked. She reminded him of his mother when he was a young pup. She had to be in her late twenties, and she wore a wedding band on her hand and had laugh lines around her face.
"Brenda is like a cross between Miss Honey and Mary Poppins. She is the best nanny and a real asset to the pack. She has two kids of her own with her mate Peter. Kendra is seven, and Zain is five." Thea explained.
"You are too kind," Brenda blushed.
"She is not wrong," Alpha Hanson smiled fondly.
"We would be lost without you and your team," Luna Elysie gushed. Brenda just blushed a deeper shade of pink in response.
"I can drop her back to class in a few minutes," Paul offered. "Let her say goodbye to our guests first. Is that alright, Brenda?"
"Sure, no problem at all," she smiled and turned to Thea and Bowie. "Thea, I will see you later. Zeta Bowie, it was lovely to meet you."
"And you Brenda," he shook her hand again.
"I will see you soon, Paul. Bye, Willow," she called as she headed back across the lawn.
"Willow, aren't you going to say hello to Zeta Bowie?" Paul asked, smiling as his daughter clung to him.
"Hello Zeta," Willow said shyly.
