"Nope not that one," Thea said as she threw the dress and hanger over her head, making it fly across the room.
"It's my first day of school. It's not a fashion show," Willow rolled her eyes as she sat on top of her bed watching her sister frantically look through her wardrobe for an outfit. It was Willows's first day of primary school. She was going into Primary one along with the other four year old boys and girls in the pack. She was excited as she had been with her father a few weeks ago to see what the school looked like and to meet her teachers. They had lots of paint and brushes so Willow was extremely happy because at four years old painting was her life.
"You have to look your best," Thea frowned at her sister.
On the other side of the bed was the middle sister, Harper who merely laughed. "She is going to just get whatever you chose covered in paint. You should just send her in a pair of overalls."
Willow stuck out her tongue. Thea didn't even have to look around to see the girls are bickering.
"Girls, are you nearly ready....your breakfast is on the table and I do not know how long I can hold Tristan back." Their father called from downstairs.
"Where is that little tan-coloured pinafore and shirt with... aha here it is," Thea said pulling out the dress. "Ok, Dad can dress you as I have to get ready myself."
"Will you do my hair? I like the way you do it," Willow pleaded with big puppy dog eyes.
"Go eat breakfast first and then I will brush your hair," Thea nodded chasing the girls from her room.
She had spent so long helping Harper find her trainers and then choosing an outfit for Willow that she had left herself with very little time to get herself ready. Thankfully she had inherited a handy little gift from her mother which was a great help on mornings like this.
Safe to say that Thea was not an ordinary teenage girl. Not really. She was like every other girl in the sense that she loved makeup and clothes and shopping as well as reading and writing. But not every girl had the ability to point her finger at the shirt she was wearing and change the colour instantly from black to white. But Thea could. It all happened on the morning of her sixteenth birthday. She woke up feeling a little funny. Her father was watching her like a hawk, and her mother too. At first, Thea thought they had a surprise for her and she was right...sort of.
She was running downstairs for breakfast that morning when her foot caught onto the leg of her pyjama bottoms causing her to trip. But rather than stumble the way everyone else would, Thea managed to stop herself before she hit the ground meaning she was hovering about two inches above the floor.
That's when her mother sat her down and told her that Thea was a hybrid. What is a hybrid you ask? Well turns out Thea was a half witch and half werewolf. She had all the powers of both and the abilities.
At first, Thea thought her parents were kidding but when her mother clicked her fingers and made the two of them land right in the middle of a hallway, with none other than Johnny Depp standing in front of them with his back to them. So not only did Thea find out she had magical abilities but she ended up having breakfast in the hotel dining room with her mother and Johnny freaking Depp and his daughter!
She had a picture to prove it too, which sat pride of place on her dresser.
So she was a witch. Not like the ones on TV. She wasn't Harry Potter, although she would be quite happy to sit in a classroom with Daniel Radcliffe or Tom Felton....but no such luck. Actually she was a teenage witch who was born into a pack of werewolves.
Now I know what you are thinking....when most people think of werewolves they think of the movie sterotypes like Remus Lupin in Harry Potter who became a werewolf when the full moon was out or like Jacob Black in Twilight, who would 'wolf out' whenever he lost his temper. Actually werewolves were not as dramatic as that. It was more a....lifestyle. Each pup grows up like any normal child with no extra capabilities other than the ability to eat more than others and burn calories faster than you could imagine. That's genetics.
