"The pack hall is where we hold all our functions, any large meetings that need to be held and we have even had a few weddings here," Stuart said as he hobbled into the building and Thea, Bowie and the pack followed. "It was built by our first Alpha. Thea's great-great-great-great-great grandfather Ichabod Davis. At that point, it was actually used as the pack house. Since then, it has been renovated, and the walls knocked through to make this large reception hall."
Thea smiled, thinking of the memories she had of this building growing up. "My mother used to run a mother and toddler group here, and I have both been to and helped host many summer and holiday camps with our young pups. We've had birthdays, christenings and all in this building."
"You don't hold them in the pack house?" Rowan asked.
"Depends entirely on the person. For my family, this was the obvious choice as our ancestors used it. But some people do like the modern look of the pack house for their celebrations." Thea shrugged.
"This hall is also used for school formals/proms and teenage discos," Stuart went on.
Not that the hall wasn't glamorous. Thea quite liked the plain decor. She loved the beams on the ceiling and the light grey walls and wooden flooring. There were windows all down the sides and the front was completely glass.
There was a wall to the left that was filled with pictures of over the years. Thea knew she featured heavily in them and wasn't too keen to point them out to these guys who may be set to become her new pack members. "And if you look closely at the photos, you may notice a few recognisable faces," Stuart smirked, winking at the young girl who now was blushing severely.
"Stuart O'Shea, what did I ever do to you?" Thea moaned as Bowie, Rowan, Maverick, and Kyle made a beeline for the wall and began scanning every picture like crazy to find an incriminating one.
It didn't take long.
"Oh, there you are. You were so cute as a baby," Bowie gushed proudly.
"Oh...oh...oh... Look at this one, I may have to save this one," Rowan laughed, pulling out his phone and snapping pictures left, right, and centre. Thea didn't even have to look to know the one he spotted. Her about 2 and a half, sitting on a potty in the middle of the floor while a birthday party went on behind her. It was awful!
"Aw, you were actually a cute little child," Kyle teased. "Look at those curls, Thea."
"I know, my mum had ringlets, and I have super curly hair too. I just straighten it a lot," she shrugged.
"I think the curls suit you," Bowie said, kissing her cheek. "Not that straight hair isn't lovely too."
"Gross!" Rowan gagged. "Go be all cute and adorable somewhere else, will you? I have not seen Bowie smile this much in....actually ever!"
"Yeah, it's very disturbing," a younger guy said, making his way to the front of the crowd. "Wait to mum meets you." He chuckled. Thea spun around to the boy. He looked to be no older than about sixteen or seventeen.
"Squirt," Bowie rolled his eyes. "I was wondering how long it would be before you stepped up to annoy me." He puffed out his chest. "Thea, this is the squirt. Squirt, this is my mate Thea," he looked to Thea and whispered. "He is my brother."
Thea smiled. "It is so nice to meet you," she held out her hand, and he took it, giving it a little shake before pulling her into a hug.
"It's lovely to finally be introduced. I find out this morning that my brother has a mate, and he doesn't even introduce her to me," he looked to Bowie and tutted. "Shame on you, brother." Bowie smacked the back of his head. "You will soon learn Thea that not only am I the better looking brother but I am also the smarter of us two." Thea liked him already. "By the way, my name is not Squirt. It's Lennon. And yes, our mother had a thing where she named us after singing legends."
