The scream made both Thea and Bowie jump and the two guards in the room had to quickly talk into their watches, probably to explain that no one was in fact being murdered. Thea was just praying that the scream was a joyous one and not one of horror.

But she needn't have worried.

Maura after several seconds came to her senses and ran forward throwing her arms around her son and his mate. She couldn't believe she was even thinking that. His mate. Bowie had found his second chance mate. He had found someone to love and cherish and someone who would love and cherish him. "Oh, my Christ!" She gasped standing back.

"Mum, I think my ears just popped," Bowie groaned.

Maura reacted by hitting his arm. "That was a cheeky thing to do. I was hoping you were away again because you had met someone. Why did you not tell me when you got home?"

"Because I wanted it to be a surprise," Bowie rolled his eyes. "I wanted to bring Thea so you could meet her, but she had school."

Maura now turned her body towards the girl standing in front of her. "My darling girl. You have no idea how excited I am that you are here. That you have met Bowie. He has been looking for you for a long time." She proceeded to hug the girl again as Thea squeezed her tightly back. Maura then held her at arm's length. "My you are a beauty."

There was something in Thea's eyes. Something familiar about her. One thing about Maura is that she has a great memory. She remembered everyone she ever met, being able to recall their name after not seeing them for decades. "You are Thea Winters?"

Thea's eyes widened as she nodded. "Yes ma'am, I am."

"Oh no ma'am sweetheart. I am Maura." She was beaming again as she looked Thea over as if memorising her face. "You look like your mother," she said after a few minutes of silence. "Yes, I knew your mother. She was a wonderful woman." Thea's smile grew (if possible) even wider at this. "She had a heart of gold and a soul as pure as can be." She leaned in closely to the girl, so only Thea could hear. "And her powers were truly magical and wondrous to behold."

Thea gasped at this and then looked to Rowan and Lennon who both seemed to be having an internal conversation with each other. "You...em...knew about her -"

"Gifts?" Maura offered and nodded. "I don't have any myself, but I do dabble in potion making and remedies and cures." She squeaked and there was a fleck of excitement in her eyes. A genuine excitement, like one you would have for your friends when something exciting happens or when you are remembering a particular exciting moment of your past.

Bowie was suspicious of the two women leaning in so closely as he couldn't hear them, but he simply cleared his throat and pulled Thea back to him as Maura winked at her. "So now you know my secret. My gift - Thea. The Moon Goddess blessed me with the most incredible mate. I do not know what I did to deserve her but -"

"But I am forever thankful that she paired us together," Thea finished. "It really is a blessing."

Maura took Thea's free hand in her own and patted it. "I am so delighted to finally meet you Thea. I can already tell that you and my son are going to be very happy together sweetheart and I want to be one of the first to welcome you to Silver Dawn." She pulled Thea forward. "Now tell me everything. How did you meet? When did you realise you were mated?"

More tea and coffee were served as Thea and Bowie began telling the story of their meeting, from Bowie pretending to be Rowan to finding out about Greyson and what he had done to Thea. She was surprised to find that Bowie did not hold back, sharing every detail of what exactly happened without so much as blushing while Thea thought she was going to melt into a puddle between them.
