At first, she thought she had misheard him. Her head snapped up, and her eyes met his. He was smiling. A breath taking smile that Thea would never get sick of.

"Do you really think I am going to make the same mistake as your ex?" He tilted her head up with his chin. "Not happening. I am not a fool." He smiled again and she was momentarily dazzled. She was the cutest thing he ever saw and he couldn't believe how lucky he was.

His wolf, Kyson, was also extremely happy. 'Mate! We found mate! We finally have our mate! And she is amazing!'

'Calm down Kyson,' he internally chuckled.

'Not a chance! I am happy! Let me have my moment! Oh, wait to you see her wolf. She is jaw-droppingly beautiful. Elaia she is called. Elaia....music to my ears.'

He noticed Thea staring at him. "My wolf is very happy. He is -"

"Being a pain in the ass?" Thea offered and Rowan smiled. "Mine too."

"He is just as happy as I am to have found you," Rowan said taking her hand in his again. "We have been looking for you for a long time."

"And I prayed for you," Thea said taking his cheek in her hand. She was still a little nervous. "So you aren't going to reject me?"

"I don't plan on it. Are you going to rej-"

"Absolutely not!" She blurted out and the two of them laughed.

"Mate," Rowan smiled.

"Mate," Thea beamed in return.

Rowan lifted her hand to his lips and kissed her wrist. "Mine," he said purring.

"All yours," Thea whispered. They had no idea how long they sat like this, just staring into each other's eyes. Thea was a little star struck and lost her own train of thought.

"Do you have any questions you want to ask me?" Rowan asked.

Thea thought for a few minutes. She had plenty of questions she wanted to ask. Too many. "Are you the pack Beta? You seem close to Zeta Bowie."

"Does that impress you?" He asked trying to read her face again.

She rolled her eyes. "Rowan you could be the pack jester and it wouldn't change how I feel about you. I am not interested in titles." He smiled.

"Like your father then," he asked and she raised an eyebrow. "I know that he was meant to be Alpha but turned it down to raise his family. So you and your brother are the same?"

"Yeah. We were raised to believe that a title was not define who you are. It's merely a job. What's important is a person's heart." Thea smiled.

"I was raised much the same. My mother will adore you," Rowan beamed, flashing his white teeth. "Thea I do not want there to be any secrets between us. I want to be honest with you from the start. And I believe that you will keep my secret."

Thea blushed. She had her own secret and she wasn't sure if she should share it with him. She felt the same, that she didn't want to keep secrets, but what is he didn't accept her for whom she truly was? What is he rejected her?

'Better to get it over now than wait to you are married with pups on the way' Elaia reassured her.

'I hate it when you're right,' Thea bit her lip.

"I would like to bite that lip," Rowan said running his thumb over her lips. She kissed his thumb in response. She could feel his desire just as he could sense his. "But I need to tell you this first."
