Chapter 1

[2005]

"So Coffee?" Sarah asked the young blonde in front of her. Lily nodded, Sarah took her hand and right off the bat she felt this strange electric charge as her fingers touched the blonde's skin.

They went to a café near-by the theatre. Sarah ordered a tall cup of iced latte while Lily ordered a cup of cappuccino, the blonde took her wallet out as she was about to pay for her order but before she could even hand the money to the cashier, Sarah smiled at her and put her hand down and said "I got this, it's my treat"

Sarah faced the cashier and paid for their orders. They sat on the table by the window; Sarah was staring outside of the window as if she was thinking about something. Lily on the other hand tried to break the silence, by saying "thank you" softly to get the brunette's attention.

"Well, you're welcome" Sarah said as she faced Lily with a smile on her face.

"So, who are you in love with Ms Paulson?" Lily asked, looking at Sarah while leaning her elbows against the table, clasping her hands together as she rests her chin above it.

"Well" She sighed "I am actually in a relationship right now, but she doesn't want the relationship to be publicized, it kinda makes me feel like she's ashamed of me"

"Huh? Did she just said 'she'?" Lily thought to herself raising her brow as she was looking at Sarah. The waitress went to their table and gave them their orders, interrupting the short conversation that the two had momentarily.

Lily gulped; she wanted to confirm whether she heard it right, Sarah looked outside the window once again while sipping her coffee.

"So you said, she. Does that means your---" before the blonde could even finish what she was about to say Sarah cut her off by saying "If you're wondering whether I am in a relationship with a woman, yes. I am in a relationship with Cherry Jones" Sarah says silently, looking cautiously at the people around her, making sure that no one is near-by to hear her say those words.

The blonde was quite in shock, she was expecting that Sarah's in a relationship with a guy. She looks pretty with those tresses of chestnut-brown hair that veiled her beautiful face. Lily admired her, especially those effervescent chocolate-brown eyes, her plump strawberry red lips, and her cheerful personality.

"Why'd you still have to ask 'how do you know if you're in love' if you're already in a relationship, isn't it that two people are in a relationship because they love one another? So basically you know how to answer that question yourself more than I do" Lily says her eyes trained on Sarah as she sips her coffee.

"Well, I know that I love her, but there's this 'doubt' whether she loves me or she just needed to be loved. I do think I love her but---"

"Why is it that there's an 'I do think' are you saying that you are not sure?" Lily asked as Sarah sighed and frowned, Lily was right, why was there an 'I do think'. She's having second thoughts now, does she really love the older woman she's currently in a relationship with? Or she just wanted 'company'? She know for a fact that living alone in a big city makes you feel lonely, she's away from home, away from her comfort zone, she's all alone trying to make her dreams come, ever since she was a child it was her dream to become a star, she wanted to be like her idol Jessica Lange, who's a great performer, She was lucky to perform with her a few months ago in a production of 'The Glass Menagerie' on broadway.

She thought that could've not done all of these amazing things without Cherry, Cherry introduced her to some of her old friends that work in theatres, television companies and movie productions. That's when they notice Sarah Paulson. She was grateful for that and forever will be for it was a stepping stone for her.
